McClellan to Miami

It's nice to see us already beginning to take last year's success and carry the momentum towards being a top program.

This is what a real coach does. He made a great run with a talented roster this year, but it's all about stability and planning ahead in CBB. Coach L doin' the **** thing.

Yeah, 2014 will be Elite 8 or better. Coach L will have a full year to season all of this talent to make the run.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here... I'm excited for how the roster is shaping up in 2014 (and 2013 looks better with Kirk and will definitely look better if Rodriguez can play), but calling for the Elite 8 already? No one on that team except for Jekiri has played a minute in a UM uniform yet! Let's wait until they actually take the court before making Elite 8 predictions...

Nope, I'm fine. I am making the prediction.

I don't think a Sweet 16 appearance is too far-fetched with the group expected back in 2014-2015. However, we need to get Malik Price-Martin and a decent back-up for Jekiri in order for things to happen.

Elite 8 next year? Even with the waiver, not a chance. I think we're an NCAA team in '15 though.

I think some of you guys might be confusing '14 and '15.

I think a big run in 2014-15 is possible, but in 2015-16 is even more likely - assuming everyone stays (and no waiver for Rodriguez), we would have a team with a SR PG (Rodriguez), SR SG (McClellan), JR SF (Reed) and SR C (Jekiri) - the only starter who isn't on the roster right now is the PF. Even the backups would be experienced - JR backup PG (Lecomte), JR backup SG (Burnett), SO backup SG/SF (Henriquez). If the coaches can get another JUCO or transfer next year (to help continue to balance the lineup), that could be another team with all upperclassmen in the starting lineup.

(BTW, my lineup is based purely on seniority - I am well-aware that permutations are possible considering, as OrangeCane said, only one player on that roster has ever played a minute in a Miami uniform or even in the ACC.)
