Matt Porter: Senior Grades

Wheeler has to be the biggest surprise of the season. Though he did show flashes of strong play last year, he was a flat out stud when he finally got in there.

For a kid I don't think many expected to still be here, he had a **** of a season.

Wheeler will be drafted imo

+1. I think it will be late but I agree. Can play Guard or Center.

LMAO at Gaines getting anything other than a "What's worse than an F?"

Gaines senior grade should have been "expelled." The fact that he was on the field over Kirby was the biggest **** up by the staff this season. We would've been better off starting a traffic cone. A traffic cone would've provided more resistance in the run game, and better coverage on pass plays.

aparrently kirby didnt get enough pt for you to realize he has a very long way to go. gaines had the experience and passion at least.

That's what gets it done - passion and experience.

You can see the passion oozing from his body while he was being blocked into the center of the Earth. And he had great experience missing tackles and moving like a snail in coverage.

One of my favorite lines from a movie, "you show me someone who's all heart and I'll show you someone who's about to take a beating."

Time to get passion and talent. The Rudy days are over.

Nothing wrong here. It was a Senior class befitting of a 9-3 team. Be honest, if we had somehow went 11-1 or 10-2 none of these grades would have changed drastically. But we as fans would have been wondering how the **** did we end up with such a good record considering who our main contributors were upperclassman wise. We would have been crowning Al and the staff. (laying aside the "easy schedule" excuse)

Lets hope we win the bowl game and send this senior class out on top and on their merry way..Time to move on from Randys last class as head coach.

Obviously Gaines Deserved Victory more by Buying Into The Process, using his Core Values, and following the 8 Pillars of Success.

David Gilbert was displeased at his lack of playing, stuck sitting behind a guy who can barely stand up straight and whose knees look like Daffy Duck's bill right after getting blown off with a shotgun.

The personnel decisions on defense were questionable.

Or maybe Gaines was better than Kirby.

Unless of course you were at practice and saw Kirby outperforming Gaines.

Man ***** you don't know who I know *****

Mostly can't find fault but I do believe that Morris despite his ability to occasionally connect on the long ball was usually the 2nd best QB on the field. For that I give him a C-, less than average yet better than D because of extra credit for putting up big numbers. Now that I hear he's invited to play in a post season, no sack, game I fully expect him to hit on a 70+ yard pass (20-40 in the air) and the pretty sports talking heads will rave about his skill.

The question is what NFL team will provide the seed-money for his upcoming business venture?

Gaines was useless on the field. Tell me one thing he did well.

Kirby can't be worst, impossible.

I'm not saying Gaines was good. I'm saying obviously Kirby was not good enough to supplant him, or else he would have. Makes no sense otherwise.

Sentrel below Cleveland, Hagans, Gaines is laughable. Henderson played pretty **** good when he is in the lineup.

he appears to be basing the evaluations on talent level and expectations (ie all things considered). Seantrell is loaded with size, strength, and athleticism, so the corresponding expectations are much higher than a back-up tight end, whose primary role is blocking.

I think the theory behind Gaines playing is that he provided "senior leadership". That said, Kirby should have been playing ahead of him. To me, Gaines is Glenn Cook 2.0, a guy who knew the defense, who played hard, but who didn't make a lot of plays at a position where it was sorely needed.

Kirby had 8 tackles this year. What based on his play suggests he should have started over Gaines?

I can just see it:

Golden: "Gaines or Kirby?"
Barrow/D'Onofrio: "Kirby is better."
Golden: "Well Gaines is a Senior. The defense is worse with him, but since he's a Senior and we don't care about winning football games, we will start Gaines."

Wheeler's not getting drafted

Hurns and Linder are the only seniors who'll get drafted because of what they accomplished

Seantrel has character issues and might not get drafted IMO.

Nobody else deserves to be drafted.

"Yeah Give Shayon a B because he tried"

That is exactly what is wrong with America and it is exactly what is wrong with this football program. LMAO. "Because he tried"

I thought the whole reason he played cause he played smart and knew the defense?!?!

He facking blowed I'd rather have a better athlete learning the position making the same **** mistakes a senior who has not talent or athleticism making
