Matt Patchan transfering from UF

His dad played on a nationtional champ Miami team in the 80s, and his son talked **** about that Miami is soft when he chose UF over us. I guess he's the soft one!

Amazing to me how people dump on the Shannon era and then blame kids for having decided not to be a part of it.

I still remember the 400 people in the scout chat room for his announcement on a Saturday afternoon...think Tano and Larry actually drove up. What a douche.

His uncle on his mom's side also played and used to post on cane sport. Whole family was die hard Canes. During his annocement his mom was wearing canes gear and crying if I remember correctly.

You remember correctly. Can´t say not choosing UM was the wrong decision with hindsight, though.

He's had 0 impact and is transferring as a junior........think he made a good decision?

THIS. If memory serves me correctly, he said something to the effect of "Most of those guys don't deserve to be Hurricanes" http://miamiherald.typepad.com/gator_clause/matt_patchan/. He wasn't that far off though in the observation at the time, but to turn around and quit because he didn't get his way somewhere else, makes him look like a complete chump.

Not what I said at all. You think choosing Randy Shannon´s train wreck would have been a good decision?

No, but at least he would have continued to be irrelevant while not dishonoring his family and the U legacy they held in high regard
