Wait, Simmons moved up his commitment date? When is he committing?

I took it as he’s announcing sometime in the next week, unless he implied he’s done taking OVs for the summer. Which is plausible considering he just did SMU and Bama too.

Which now that I look it over again in leaning the latter and I’m just out of it today 😂

Oh I’m with you, backup plan doesn’t mean he’s trash. That’s how good our D-line/edge recruiting pool is right now…the #75 player in the country isn’t in our top 2.

I probably should have specified that lol. Interested to see what the next Bank update holds…
I get your point and I can’t say I disagree

It’s a weird (but awesome) situation we are in with so many elite guys in play. The evals not the rankings will tell us who is higher on the board (kinda like Gibson/Riley you could consider Gibson a “backup” plan while also being a priority…if that makes sense)

Respectfully, I think you’re getting way ahead of yourself. While yes we have good traction with those guys and have had positive feedback, neither of those guys or any other “Elite” DL for that matter have publicly committed or shutdown their recruitment while all continuing to take OVs.

Mario understands this and is treating them all as Option #1. If he’s “trending away” which I don’t think he is, we have this weekend to make our move. However, OSU a legit contender and a serious threat, just like other top programs will be with our other top targets. No need to overthink this.

He's probably saying he can rest since he wont have coaches hitting him up all day and night

Yeah, he's got a nice bag OV tour lined up - no way he cancels those things.

Is he planning to announce his commitment by end of dead period?

Still feel pretty good about LSU in this spot.

@DMoney from the 6/20 Bank. We've got a shot here folks. That On3 CB looks to be premature.

Miami is continuing to work hard on several defensive line targets that may be closer to a decision. David Stone (IMG), Aydin Breeland (Los Angeles), Dylan Stewart (Washington DC) and Marquise Lightfoot (Chicago) are names to watch.

“The visit was perfect,” “I already had my idea about the Canes going down to the visit, so when I finally saw it in person again for the second time, they reassured me of how they are and I made sure that coach (Mario) Cristobal and my position coach were coaches I’d love to be coached by.”

“Miami was always one of my top schools, but there were a few things missing I didn’t know that were hard for me to know,” Lightfoot said. “Those questions were answered this weekend. On the visit they assured me they were heading in the right direction.”

LIghtfoot was hosted by one of his former teammates: Myles Mooyoung. He told Lightfoot all the reasons why Miami was a great fit and Lightfoot said " when I was down here I realized why.”
