All the Canes money people that wanted Mario need to kick in more money because he sure as heck can’t coach as many of us knew, and at this point is not filling a roster he can win with. The great recruiter needs bigger bags apparently to fill some holes so he can coach in his box but have the talent to bail him out.

How is he not filling the roster?
He has had two recruiting cycles. He has flipped 80% of the roster. That’s extremely hard to do.

Chaney was down and was robbed by the ACC. That would be win 7.

TVD going complete mental breakdown and server injuries cost Miami the NC state game.

I don’t believe be in moral victories but had a chance to tie/win the game on last drive against the #4 team in the country on the road with a. True freshmen making his 2 career start.

Had a chance to Tie/beat the #10 team in the country yesterday at the end.

D-line has been destroyed with injuries.

There are multiple freshman and sophmore a that are playing really good football.

Team hasn’t quit all year. Miami has been in every single game. A couples drives/plays away from being a 9 or 10 win team.

If you don’t see the progress then I don’t know what to tell you.

This off-season will be vital to where his career at Miami goes. It’s fine for fans to be upset but ppl calling for his job are idiots. Dude will get 5yrs min.

Might as well find a way to support the program and put your money up to buy better players. That’s just where the sport is. Listen to every single coach who is losing and it all comes back to money to buy players. Georgia has nfl talent sitting the bench. Mario hasn’t had time to get that kind of depth.

Guidry is a good hire. Let’s see if Dawson stays or what happens on that side of the ball.

Mario will get it right. Manny left a terrible roster for him. How do ppl not realize that.

And yes Mario has made some major mistakes so this isn’t a slurped post either. Mario has to do better.
 
I know people won't like this, but Miami has also gotten a tough ACC schedule draw last 2 years. That's about as tough a 2 year stretch in league as I remember a Miami team getting. Not excuses just factual.

2022:

Clemson 11 wins
FSU 10 wins
Duke 9
UNC 9
Pittsburgh 9

2023:

FSU 11
LVille 10
N.C State 8
UNC 8

This is what some just don't get.With Mario it doesn't matter if he on paper improves the roster the results on saturday show a different story.Yes this team is better than last years yet we need to beat BC just to tie last years team in total acc wins.Mario has a better roster than Diaz yet he needs to win 12 straight acc games just to tie Diaz record in conference here.

Sure you see some improvements, but you also see regression. How does TVD fall off a cliff? James and Kam look worse. You mention what Manny left and I agree, but has the talent left improved, and how much of the roster turned? Mario chased off a lot of the roster.

Calling for his job, there is no use, but I did not want him here in the first place. I did not, and still do not think he is a good coach. Unfortunately it seems that the hopes of the program are tied up in his success or failure with the investment they made. Sad if true when we could have brought in someone else for less money and not broke the bank, or brought in a better coach with the money.

There is no excuse for the Chaney non fumble, a coaching error lost the game. 3rd and 11 and you run the ball yesterday with a guy you say will play in the NFL? Poor clock management, the list goes on, but recruiting this cycle is a concern.
 
I wanted Lane but I think we should be patient. We’ve clearly improved from last year. Hopefully we can get to win #7 against BC. There’s definitely been some tough losses.

Hopefully some of these young guys can start stepping up and improving our depth all around.

Dude, it is the ACC, the ACC sucks. The fact that we cannot win against ACC teams should be very alarming to you. FSU was very beatable yet we lost. Louisville was very beatable, but we lost. UNC, another train wreck. How Mario has the record he has in the ACC is mind boggling.

Ok I’ll start with each point and address your questions.

1. TVD falling off a Cliff. He was bad last year so what did you expect this year? He has only been good a few games of his career. Has always Thrown a lot of INT. He is what he is. That’s not on Mario. It’s on Mario to not try and recruit over him.

2. You said Kam and Williams have regressed. I disagree. Williams has looked the best he has since being at Miami. He is still exposed in coverage. No coach Can change that. He is an in the box player. Kam is having basically the same type season even after multiple big injuries. How is this on Mario anyways he doesn’t coach defense. This is a stupid point for you to even bring up to bash Mario.

3. Mannys talent. Yes it has improved. George is having a career year. Rivers is having the best year ever and may go pro. **** that’s about it for manny players even left. That’s the point. Mannys recruiting was so **** bad we are basically getting nothing from his classes. That’s a disaster to clean up.

4. Who did Mario chase off that’s actually having an impact somewhere? The SMU crew who play in a **** conference? Brinson has done nothing. Knighton still fumbles if anyone breathes on him. Roberts is solid and hoped he would stay. Who else has been chased of that is worth a ****? Once again terrible manny recruiting.

5. Not taking a knee is a terrible mistake. Other game day stuff as well but that’s who Mario is. Most of already knew this and said that’s why surrounding him with big coordinators is a must. Mario is a recruiter plan and simple. So far he has recruited better than any coach at Miami in 15 years. He gets another off-season to bolster the roster.

Any other debate you want to have?

I have time this morning so let me add to this.

Injuries.

How many rosters/coaches in year two of a new job can overcome losing the following players on a roster that’s not deep.

-Both starting DE for most of the year
-Starting DT both a different points of the year
-starting QB for multiple games. Multiple injuries
-starting CB for the last few games
-starting TE basically hasn’t played all yr
-starting Rb Parrish the last few games, Fletcher multiple games, Chaney banged up

What team has depth to cover that up besides the top teams in the country who have had coaching stability and top recruiting for the last 10-15 years.

You have zero idea what’s about to happen to this recruiting class now. This isn’t like last year where you can sell youth and PT and a roster change. He already flipped over 41+ dudes last season. I get it, we’re fans and we should support our team and coach. This **** hurts, but I’m speaking the truth

But you’ll learn the hard way. It’s the same Miami as the last 20 years. What can he sell going 6-5, that we lost close games? LOL. Moral victories don’t mean ****. We started 4-0 and have gone 2-5 since. We’re 2-5 in the worst Power 5 conference in America. Mario is under .500 since he’s been here. He has one double-digit win in the ACC and four of his five ACC wins came against teams that had losing records. He’s 2-6 at home in conference games. We continuously lose games due to coaching, not talent. We’re undisciplined as heck.Who wants to be coached by that?

Better open up the checkbook to keep guys.

But thats on the coach and scheme offensively and the mentality on offense

Until Mario changes his ways, nothing will change unless Miami has elite talent advantage which wont happen until the former occurs, more wins. Its a cycle

You are what your record says you are. And this is a talented team handicapped by poor coaching and inexcusable decision-making for the amount of resources being invested.

Hence the “coulda shoulda woulda been 8-4/9-3, but now we’re 6-5 and staring at the worst start to a Miami Head coach’s first two years since the 70’s”.

We have become a place that very few want to coach at unless they want to retire in (2) years with a huge buyout.
Frankly we’re making Miami terrible place to coach with terrible fan support for basically anyone that comes here.

It’s just a place to get rich quickly and leave.

It is what it has become.

You're living off the past. Did you see ACC vs. SEC matchups this season? ACC is much improved. It just so happens Miami got a tough draw. Miami needs to get better, Mario needs to coach better, etc.. no excuses just an observation.

This season Louisville doesn't play FSU, Clemson, UNc in the regular season. You think that helped their season win totals?
