Mario offensive Philosophy adjustment

Yeah he's let go of the reins to an extreme level this year. I'm impressed by it. I almost wish he'd pull out the slack but this is technically what I wanted. Can't argue with it.

Maybe, just maybe, TVD was so bad he tried to force running the ball to try and mask it.

Here's an adjustment. Run the ball outside, off tackle at the very least. Seems they plod through the mud through the A and B gap way too much
Couple of things with that… you set the tone to be physical and that we are going to lean on you to make you run out of gas in the 4th quarter… saw what happened to Cal and VT late in the game. Gassed.

Next, it makes the defense cheat in. LBs and especially Safeties they cheat up to run support which then allows us to have the nation’s leading passer. Sounds weird for us to be able to say that right? But the way we choose to run the ball creates the space for our passing game to function like it does.

Probably easier to do if you are under center even a few times a game. This **** where the RB is standing next to the QB and then they come together so the RB can get the ball AND then has to get going, doesn't work as well with our bigger backs that dont' go from 0 to 60 so quickly.

I don't disagree with anything you said there. However I do think it would be nice to have all running plays in our repertoire. We do have some quicker backs we can utilize, maybe use a bit of misdirection in the running game. But if it doesn't fit into the offensive philosophy, then I guess it doesn't. Although I believe it should.

More than one way to skin a cat right… to that point. Dart is throwing the ball at a similar clip as Cam. And Henry Parrish clearly did not fit what Mario wanted to do offensively but he’s doing just fine and running the ball extremely well at Ole ****.

Do we have the most talented offensive roster in the country - no.

Do we have the number 1 ranked offense - yes.

There's always a little more juice in the lemon, but probably not a ton.

Run the high tempo no hudle offense we ran the past 2 games in the second halves and score 30-40 points. Then run the 2nd half.

Cam is our best player, let him cook. But have him throw with timing (considering OL using back ups) and use the check downs or throw out of bounds. Have the ball out in 2.5 seconds and reset. He's been trying too hard the last 2 games.

it helps when you see the leadership and work put in by your qb ... ward is the real deal ...

did the same with Justin Herbert.

This the first time he has looked to stayed out of the way...Dawson looks much more comfortable running his own show.

In the PAC12 Herbert was 3rd in attempts as a JR and 2nd in attempts as a SR... With only Washington St under Mike Leach being by far out ahead. 3,471 yards, 36TDs, 6 INTs, finished 5th in the AP poll and won the Rose Bowl... Really held Herbert and the team back.... Their top 2 RBs also averaged 6.2 Ypc that year while we are currently averaging 5 ypc with Martinez/Fletcher.

Maybe they just ran more at Oregon cause it worked more.
