I know Jeffrey didn't live up to expectations that some may have had of him but the talent was obvious. The offensive pairing of QB and Coaches didn't fit his skillset at all.

All that can be true, but crowning someone before they have even dressed out is an insult to anyone that ever played.

I think everything said by coaches is meant to serve as motivation and should be taken as lightly as possible. Trying to deduce anything from a press conference leads to unreasonable expectations. If you are a fan of certain players (IE: Bobby Washington for me) just be glad they are still on the team and hope they develop. Robert Stafford was coming along nicely 12 months ago.

I definitely stopped watching press conferences entirely a few years ago. The coach speak became unbearable.
