The team is back after spring break, and Mario Cristobal met with reporters to provide the latest:

On the team’s approach coming back after spring break:

He also said Emory Williams is having great camp so how do you determine what is valid?
I think it's harder to determine with kids who haven't played or true freshman. Have to gather volume of intel from different respected sources and make your own determination from that. With Emory we've seen too much bad play to be led to believe he's great all of a sudden if the coaches praise him heavy.

I think everything said by coaches is meant to serve as motivation and should be taken as lightly as possible. Trying to deduce anything from a press conference leads to unreasonable expectations. If you are a fan of certain players (IE: Bobby Washington for me) just be glad they are still on the team and hope they develop. Robert Stafford was coming along nicely 12 months ago.

Agreed. I am also a huge Bobby Washington fan. The injury he sustained in bowl game practice was very unfortunate as this new defense with its simplicity, aggression and focus on communication and fundamentals seems like the ideal vehicle with which to foster his development. Hopefully he gets healthy soon.
