Mario a Beast

Preliminarily, what decent OC are youi going to get here when you just fired an OC after 1 year. Secondly, he's OC of the year and then suddenly the next year he forgets everything.....or is it more likely he had no talent to work with?
He wasn't the "OC" of the year. He got an award that basically recognized that THE OFFENSE improved and he was given the credit in an vote process that included 1000 assistant coaches around the country ... when if fact the CREDIT belonged to Harbaugh, the newly promoted Co OC responsible for game planning in 2021 and one additional staffer charged with "assisting" Gattis that season. Gattis didn't EARN squat. Broyles award was a joke.

Please excuse my ignorance... but who are those two? It might be the beer, but I don't recognize them

I would not call him a BEAST. We have missed on on several WR's. lost a few commitments, and he's done a very good job. He is FAR from being a beast!
We been flopping around like a near dead carp on a creek bank for 15 yrs and went 5-7 this year and currently have a top 5 class with more to come JESUS H CHRIST

Ray Ray and Robby are studs. May not be 5 star elite but they are very good.
Yes they are. My point is people are crowning coach bro as a beast recruiter yet we keep losing the local elite WRs to other teams. As the biggest need you’d think a great recruiter would have the top guys begging to step in and contribute right away

We have a top 6 class after finishing 5-7… if that ain’t beastly, I don’t know what is.

Both are top 175 I think. That’s pretty good, but we do need a stud outside guy. I was thinking about it this morning would Hill and Waddle be consider slot guys? They are both smaller in stature but have produced a crap load for the Dolphins and I haven’t watched them much but I didn’t know if they had a bigger body that was doing damage. Seems like a concept that could work until you land the right bigger WRs.

Waddle was not only an outside guy but he was regarded as one of the best outside deep threats in all of CFB going into his final year at Bama.

Question for you though what makes him an outside guy? I don’t know the measurables right off hand but is Robby a similar build? I’m not comparing the two in skill just trying to learn.

I would say Robby is build more like an RB than Waddle but is shorter. Your outside WRs are X and Z. The big thing with the X, your primary outside guy, is that they have to line up on the LOS and therefore it’s easier to jam them. It’s why you need a strong/bigger WR who can handle beating man coverage. Amari was a X through and through that wasn’t that big. He had an elite release and had the speed to stretch the field as well. The Z is also outside but you don’t line up on the LOS so they have an easier release. Waddle while not that big can get off the line with ease because he is so **** athletic and fast. Robby could maybe be an outside guy but he is even smaller than Waddle and it’s just not an ideal situation for him. He also needs to work on his route tree in general. Ray Ray is a slot WR through and through.
