Manny Post Game and his philosophy

Being a great HC starts with hiring great assistants. Diaz so far is lacking in that, like Shannon, like Golden, like Richt. Golden and Richt chose friends and family....Diaz is going the same way with a staff full of friends. That's why were are in these dog fights with trash teams like UVA. Their talent is much worse than ours but their coaches are far better....all round
And yet...Shannons 09 team would beat the Brakes off this team...and so would Goldens 2013 team...

I’m glad y’all ain’t the ones making the decisions for the program.... All the ppl that’s talkn **** bout Manny want do no better... I wonder wat y’all was saying whn the 2001 team almost lost to BC and Vt that year
Probably that Coker shouldn’t have been hired as the head coach after Butch left, which proved to be true. The issue is not that we had a close game. That happens. The issue is the lack of discipline, the lack of focus, and the repeating of the same mistakes game after game. This is Coker without being gifted that roster and with G5 level assistants across the board instead of future NFL head coaches.

If you thought last night was winning the lottery then I don’t know what to tell you.

I was talkn bout this board... not the team...at this time last year we looked way worst than this.... y’all must live in a perfect outside this board...we better than last year...Clemson wasn’t built n one or two years

The problem is everyone wants to live in a black and white world when there is a whole **** of a lot of grey. Yes, we are winning games we lost last year. But that does not mean there are not very specific concerns and raising them even after a win is inappropriate. If they lined up correctly and scored a touchdown on 3rd and goal from the 21, this is a different game and then what.

This offense has been out of whack for three weeks now and the defense has had the same issues come up repeatedly. Those are facts and it is fair to criticize the coaches for not correcting it. They are paid a LOT of money to do just that.

I am happy we won. I hope we continue winning. But if you think that will continue with how we have been playing then I don’t know what to tell you. That was not a good performance last night against a very bad team.

Pitt game was never in doubt. UVA game was never in doubt. The only game that was in doubt this year was Clemson. No they haven’t been cake walks but you also haven’t been ****ting your pants either. This team has a long way to go but I think it’s headed in the right direction. It’s your own fault if you have unrealistic expectation. This team is a top 25 team, no doubt. Top 10? No chance.

I think the issue with todays coaches is the emphasis on analytics : while fundamentals suffered : I mean today I see some really unique tackling form, pass patterns looks like they just run to a spot and squat or run straight verticals.

never in doubt? they had the ball in their hands with a minute go and down by less than one touchdown. in fact, in the third quarter it should have been 21-10 UVA if they would not have had a TD called back and if they made the easy interception on King in the bubble screen.

He's basically the Cuban Al Golden. Alberto Golden.
He might as well let the Social Justice Council game plan and coach the team.

funny how things work out.

if schiano had not left for rutgers that previous year, he would have been the choice of paul dee to be the head coach from that staff, not coker. the players lobbied like **** for coker, and dee was right at the time to keep the hire internal, but .... it would have been schiano over coker. most people aren't aware of that.

the other thing people may not have known, is that of the staff that left with butch to go to cleveland, chuck pagano was also highly thought of, and would have been a serious dark horse candidate to stay as HC, even though he would have been a first time HC as well.

barry alvarez got a long look and an interview in chicago, but the reality was, paul knew what he had in that roster, and it was going to be someone who had a direct connection to the team, which meant someone from the existing staff.
