Manny’s biggest issue in year 1 was being to lenient on the players. You can disagree with Richt but now we know the issue he was having with Williams immaturity and selfish players such as JT. Richt was trying to clean up the culture but Manny came in and brought the cancer back and let Williams quit and then when he needed him put him in the game. This shows the team your rules don’t mean chit.

any player that doesn't put in the effort or follow the rules should sit or be sent packing. Do not allow the Hightower’s or the world back on the team.

he needs to become Saban overnight and get things right before the end of Spring to have any chance. If he doesn’t we will be the same exact team next year.

Needs to become Saban overnight?!?! You do realize in any organization, whether a business or football team, culture change is not something that happens overnight. It is a process. If you try to rush it or skip steps in said process, you are setting yourself up to fail. Manny noticed the change needed, and he is making the necessary steps. It is happening, but you MUST be patient.

When Richt was here all we heard from cis posters was that suspensions were bullsh it and if they are really good then they should be disciplined some other way. Now we hear that Manny is too lenient and the players get away with too much. Where is the middle-ground?

Culture change is what you make it. Manny wants to be the players friend, he wants guys jumping up and down on the sidelines, that is not the culture that will win championships. Letting guys slip past drug tests when you know it is an issue, missing curfew yet not being suspended for games and being welcomed back after leaving sets a culture, but a bad one. You have your OL disrespecting legacy players trying to teach them, QB's sulking and missing practices. Manny could have had a pass this year by telling said players to pack their **** and leave, but he panicked under pressure.

Manny is not ready for prime time. Maybe he gets it right, but why on our dime, and why at the expense of this program? We as a power five program should not be a rotating training ground for coaches cutting their teeth. Manny failed in many ways this year, but the biggest may have been establishing a culture.

We have another weak schedule. If Manny cannot put up 10 wins with all he was given Blake needs to personally pack Manny's bags and put them on the curb. No less than the ACC Championship game is acceptable, and no clown show that we had this season with the circus that was some of our players and staff.

Manny the disciplinarian?? I dont see it!

A team takes on the personality of their HC. If Manny wants a more accountable, focused team, then he needs to start leading by example. More effort has been put into tweets then gameplan's. I've said this previously and I feel it CANNOT be overstated, Manny was coaching on this team when these 'culture issues' supposedly started. Now, he's suppose to fix the issue??? I want to believe but i know better!

DeeJay Dallas himself said that the defense was in check. The defense came to play every Saturday. The defense showed up for the bowl game. Can't say the same about the offense.

Great post! I have worked in a lot of offices doing sales and management training. Culture doesn't change over night. It takes a while even when you get rid of the bad apples.

At the end of the day our previous 3 coaches have been incredibly selfish and unwilling to change. Diaz's first season was awful, the worst of our previous coaches, but he showed a willingness to change course and make necessary changes. I realize it is terribly difficult to find positives after last season but at the very least we have a coach willing to admit mistakes and clean up said mistakes.

Even in a meaningless bowl game against La Tech in a lost season, which side of the ball did you see playing hard and executing?

If we go thru another offseason where the story is “Manny yelling at the team” cause they weren’t ready for practice, we’re in for another rough season.

Manny was f*cked either way. Play Jarren Williams and the cancers or bench them and win 3 games. I mean just looked at how y'all b*tched when he didn't play Lingard. Now u know why. He was in a lose lose situation
He took the job. He knew the problems and failed to fix them. It would have been better to win 3 games and be cancer free than win 6 and still have the cancer.

I'll give him this, he isn't sitting still. And hopefully the reason Williams left is because it was impressed upon him it might be in his best interests to find another place to play football.

U don't even believe that. Look how the fanbase is acting winning 6 games. He only wins 3 games and he's fired. Coaching is how he feeds his family. He made the right choice.
