California is big enough to spread the wealth. Oregon is averaging top 7 classes under Mario and continues to spend unbelievable amounts on their program. If Mario is scared of what USC 900 miles away might do if they manage to hire a competent coach then I don't want him anywhere near here.

A serious USC program is always going to get the top players out there. It’s like comparing Bama to Auburn. JMHO, it’s not impossible for Oregon, but a LOT harder with a serious program at USC.

Problem is USC does not pay protection money to the NCAA and ESPN like the SEC does. Prior to Carroll, they had one, I repeat one, 10-win season in 22 years. No doubt with a legitimate coach and they should dominate the Pac-12 South and then win the Pac-12 most years. So yes, I agree with you.
