Correct me if Im wrong but dont you have to wait until all of your natural eligibility is done before the overlords of the NCAA will grant a hardship year??

So if Im correct, we wont know anything for three more seasons.

Ace64??? Drop some knowledge, brother.

I don't know who Ace64 is, but you don't have to wait until your eligibility expires to receive a medical RS.

You have 5 yrs. to play 4. If they don't apply and receive a medical waiver for this past season then it will count as 1 of his 4 seasons of eligibility. You can apply year by year (which is what I would do) or you can wait. So UM should apply for it now IMHO and if it is granted, he will have 4 yrs. to play 4.

In addition, generally speaking, you need two years of hardship (not necessarily consecutive) to be granted a 6th year. I think it is better to apply for them when you can and get everything lined up. Ojomo comes to mind. He might have received a waiver for his Freshman year had they applied then instead of waiting ((my thinking being that the facts are fresh in everyones mind at UM at that time and the facts can be recorded if they weren't already). Again, you can wait and apply or you can apply at the end of each season. BTW, you apply to your conference (in UM's case the ACC). If you are not satisfied in their ruling, you can then appeal to the NCAA. If you don't belong to a conference, then you apply straight to the NCAA.
