I'm really starting to believe the bowl game is make or break to how this season will be viewed. If we win the bowl and reach 10 wins while doing so the season is a success. If we win 10 games and a bowl, chances are Golden brings back the DC who shall not be named. Now on the other hand if we lose to a Texas A&M in the bowl game and allow 600 yards while doing so he's gone. I know the majority of the fan base want a new coordinator and I really think the bowl game will determine the success of the season. Not only to the coaches but the fans as well.

D'Onofrio isn't going anywhere unless we get absolutely embarrassed in the Bowl Game. And I mean giving up 60-70 points.

Idk if it's possible to give up that many points with this defense. Yes they rack up a lot of yards and they do whatever they want but is lil by lil. Eventually they'll get to 40 the only way they get to 60 if out offense gives the ball away

Well, chances are we will in the Peach Bowl vs Johnny Football so our defense will be put to the test, that's for sure.

Pitt will go for 400+ but you guys are talking about a bowl game. Coach D is done. There is no saving him. We can't stop anyone and Golden wont have a choice but to let Coach D go or demote him.

By some miracle, If we actually win aganist Pitt and the bowl game aganist either A&M or Louisville (and I mean IF), the DC who should not be named will get at least ONE more year, its really that simple.

Aren't we embarassed enough?

It could always be worse.

When there is a pattern established of allowing yards + points, eventually there is no longer an "IF". We will have 50+ points scored if we play aTm/LSU. We will have 40+ scored against if we play UCF/Louisville/Cincy. So yeah, Snickers is right, they're going to have to score a **** load of points in order to win with this defense.

Good god, Virginia just about put up 500 yards and outgained us by close to 200. Why would it be any different against an opponent that's actually won a game in their respective conferences?

Gotta take care of Pitt and Louisville, assuming we play them in a bowl game. If we can finish 10-3 and win those next two games, we will go into 2014 with some serious momentum.

We have no chance against LVille or LSU bc they also have defenses that will slow us down.
Worst case scenario is LSU bc Miles is classless and will not slow down. I think Strong would pull his starters at some point.
TAM is our best hope bc their defense sucks balls and they are a big play offense.
We held FSU to 41. We can beat TAM

I wish Golden was "classless."

Don't be a *****.

10 wins is the battle cry of the loser. It's like a 1,000 yard rushing season. Doesn't really mean all that much anymore.

This season's a disappointment no matter what happens the rest of the way because we didn't win the **** *** Coastal. Really that simple. Get your expectations up.

It looks like Al has a dumb spot in his brain when it come to DC and will apparently go down with him. I am pretty sure we will get hammered in the bowl game by whoever we play. In addition to the horrible passive take what you want defense wiht play, we now have large numbers of injuries. I want A&M because then the expectation of getting hammered will soften the impact of the actual hammering and reduce the negative effect on recruiting. Plus A&M can't play defense either. Maybe Al's wife will take note and tell him to fire Mark before they have to move the family back to Temple. She supposedly like living down here and has got to be jealous of Mark. She may be our last best hope.

End thread.

Anyone who thinks not playing in the ACCCG this season isn't a failure is looking at the glass waaay past half full. Our schedule was Charmin soft and the only obstacle (if you want to call it that) was taking care of business on our side conference.

Exactly. Dudes are trying to excuse ****ing away the Coastal TWICE because we might win 10 games. We might win 8 too. How many of those 8 to 10 wins will have been against teams over .500? We played one of the worst schedules in college football this year and still sharted in our pants.

Fail.

Yep. Its funny how the apologists keep moving the goal posts to suit their cokerfied reasoning.

Simple question. Is this a well coached team in year 3 of the Golden era? Simple answer is no. Forget talent. Is the team any better today than they were on opening day? No. Nuff said, nutt huggers.

This team isn't even any better than when Shannon got fired.
