We need some breakdown of how you think the Canes can exploit the Noles on offense, and how you think we can slow them down on defense.

Sat around 8:15..you should have the correct and only correct answer...or you can have 1000 opinions...your choice

IMO

Offense - Pound the ball with Duke, Crawford and might seen Hagens on short yards. Establishing the run we will play action pass for short yards work the corners and safeties closer, to get the ball to Clive and Beau. Take a few shots down field on a play action.

Defense - Run zone coverage while mixing up the blitz packages. Tighter coverage is going to be needed at the corners. Safeties are going have to be focused because **** likes to throw the deep ball.

IMO, it is going to be very difficult to run the ball down their throats from the beginning of the game. You have got to think that they will be gameplanning to stop the run and force Morris to beat them. We have to have some early success throwing the ball or we don't stand a chance.

this. as herbstreit said, we need to keep them off balance. Trying to simply pound the ball at FSU is a losing proposition.

Go play action first play and send Coley deep... this will keep them honest... also spread them wide and thin... and run draw plays right up that ***... run will routs, crossing patterns and confuse the safeties. Then hit them with the TE seams up the middle...
On defense... hit em and hit em hard... run d-line stunts... play #17, #11, & #98 a bit more... we need jameis uncomfortable all night long... we have to spy Jameis with a LB... this LB has to play the underneath routs and QB spy... I pick DP for the job got to close on him quickly... and blitz we must blitz... I dont care where it comes from just blitz... that means man to man with there tall WR I know... but thats what champions are made out of... we have playmakers on Def... let them make plays... "they are on scholarship too..."

Isn't the whole idea around this message board, sharing opinions. I actually trust LU when it comes to his breakdowns and analysis which is why I asked for his take on things.

I'm thinking something like this...

Will try to provide an opinion in a bit. Haven't had a chance to do anything but work today. They don't understand it's FSU week.

There's a ton of good stuff already splattered throughout the front page, though. That stretch play thread is pretty solid.

Special teams, particularly O'Donnell, are going to be big for us. If we can pin the **** back on drives we have a better chance of keeping it even. I think Pruitt has his hands full this game, and honestly, I think Morris comes up big.

Whenever I read **** like "I only trust so-and-so's opinions" it smells a lot like chefcane territory. Putting any particular poster up on a pedestal to give you opinions to parrot is a recipe for failure and takes away from generating any meaningful discussion.

Maybe, but statisticly they've been vulnerable on the ground.

Gave up 4.4 YPC or better against BC, PITT, and NCST.

I think we run until they stop it, if they can.

I consistently repeat I don't know **** and just like to talk football, so the reference to ChefCane is offensive. Fighting words, bruh.

On defense, I think their OL is vulnerable. I mentioned this in another thread, but their OL is suspect in pass pro. Specifically, their huge guards – Matias and Jackson (both in the 320-330 type build) – have the tendency to reach on their initial pass pro punches and completely whiff. Watch the BC-FSU game highlights and you’ll see this. They are also slow. BC was able to stunt and twist with some success against FSU – I think our guys can do the same. Lastly, keep an eye on the Chick/McCord-Erving matchup. Erving was switched to OL last year after starting off at DL. He’s a good athlete but he’s raw/inconsistent. Doesn’t move his feet well against speed guys and some times is not set with his feet. I think we can do some things against their OL. More importantly, have to keep Winston bottled up much like what we did against 2005 Vick.

Fsu uses a lot of formations on d. Their dline is big but are not good pass rushers they only have 4 sacks from them. So jones will play de and joyner will blitz to help bring pressure. They use 1 front with 3dt that are 300lbs and 1 de who is 280 miami needs to use up tempo and throw the ball when they use that. I think quick passes could lead to big plays because they blitz alot. Duke and walford has to be used in the passing game. They have good cb so let walford attack the safties and get duke 1 on 1 with a lb on a wheel route.

Do you not think they are going to be expecting that.

I agree 252 they don't rush the passer, well. I think screens and quick passes would work. They blitz a lot,so there will be oppurtunties for some big plays.

Which is why I can envision us coming out throwing the ball. FSU will be thinking we're scared to put the game in Morris's hands and are looking to shorten the game, so they'll probably be teeing off on the run game right off the bat.
