I imagine he feels fg’s wont win the game and pressure to get 6. I personally don’t like going for it on the three or further back. The odds are against you and the plays available are small

One side effect of the expanded CFP could be coaches playing more aggressively as one loss won't be so impactful as far as potentially being squeezed out of the top four
