Tears LSU Tears

A degenerate gambler making MI football his vanity project perfectly encapsulates the state of college football.
That has been the SEC way for years but it was done in the shadows. Since paying players is legal now it’s all out in the open and more schools are in the game/

From their 247 mod:

Prior to today, word was they would target the transfer portal for a QB if Underwood flipped. We will be following up with sources if that plan of attack changed, but i have a hunch that will be the most successful route this late in the game.

The last figure i heard on the LSU side was 7 million and the hope was that would be enough. We know money was a driving factor in this, but the pitch from Michigan labeling Underwood as the guy to turn things around in Ann Arbor also hit home, per a source.

I don't think you can look past LSU's struggles of late and say they were not a factor because that would be naive IMO.

More to come but just some quick thoughts.
There we go with the wins and losses excuse by a staff writer to hide the fact that BK is cheeks at recruiting. And they will eat it up.

Depends what Barstool is worth, but it was worth over $500M a bunch of years ago, and then he bought it back for a literal Dollar
No, it’s not worth $500mm. Portnoy’s interest is not remotely as valuable as you think. Penn didn’t just cut bait for $1. It gets 50% gross on any subsequent sale or disposition.

He's worth $150M.

$150M or $1B. Whatever. He is not putting down his money, he is “face” of the deal but the real money is coming from 1 or more Michigan boosters who don’t want or can’t have their names associated with the deal,

At most Portnoy kicked in a couple hundred grand and a barstool merchandise/podcast deal.
