Massive campusI’ve never been to LSU’s campus but they have enough open space to get into a fatal car accident?
This is why I could never be in LE. It's not just writing tickets for people running red lights. Ugh... having to report to the scene of someone's dead kid... I couldn't, I don't want that memory.Yea I hear ya. It’s terrible. I worked in LE for 4 years. 9 times out of 10 this is impairment or conditions like icey roads. Other times it’s simply falling asleep or a medical episode, but less likely. Who knows, especially if it was campus police.
Yes…there’s a lot of blind corners there also and those huge trees are everywhere cause it’s illegal to cut them down so they grow to be humongous…..I’ve never been to LSU’s campus but they have enough open space to get into a fatal car accident?
Yea, i have seen some ****ed up things. People don’t realize some of the things going on in their neighborhors house. This is why I could never be in LE. And those large trees as I said cause a LOT of blind corners…the speed limit on campus I believe is either 15 or 20 MPH.Now it’s true NO ONE does those speeds , but from looking at that tree he had to have been doing 50+ and doing that speed through that area at night is crazy.I pray the kid pulls through and makes a full recovery.
I did think it was odd that the police so-quickly ruled out impairment as a possibility. How? If the accident victim was non-responsive and badly injured, there is no opportunity to observe motor function and behavior. While he may not have 'reeked of alcohol" (to use a cliche), I highly doubt they have the results of a tox screen yet. It was 2:45 in the morning.
That is all. I truly hope there was no impairment involved, I just found it to be strange that it was "ruled out" right from the start.
Here is a satellite view of the intersection. Lots of large trees in that area.

I thought the same thing. Odd to so quickly rule that out especially when other things can cause imparment too, not just alcohol. Was it campus police?I pray the kid pulls through and makes a full recovery.

I hope the kids makes a full recovery.I'd be willing to bet.
And, yes, in full disclosure, I still hate the LSU/Baton Rouge cops due to my arrest in 1988 during the third quarter of the game.
