I really feel that Louisville's numbers look better than what that team is because they feasted on an extremely weak schedule; even weaker than ours.

Here are the stats UCF (Louisville's only strong opponent) put up against em:

Total yards - 446
Passing - 21-33 for 250
Rushing - 32 for 196.

They are not a bad team but numbers are inflated from playing in the AAC and no one in OOC. The biggest stat that sticks out is the 3rd down numbers, which IMO this game will be won or lost

Top defenses we played - UF (when healthy), FSU and Va Tech. Yep. Stats don't tell the whole story.

I actually noticed most the special teams numbers which are not very good for them. We do have some playmakers there especially if both Dorsett and Coley are available to return kicks.

So, basically, our only chance to win this game is if we ever stop them, Coley must house each punt, and we have to return every kickoff after they score at will against our defense for a TD. I like our chances:eekeyes:

In all seriousness, a lot of those numbers are inflated because of their weak schedule. Last numbers I saw, our SOS was #58, nothing impressive, but Louisville's SOS was #107.

we should be able to move the ball on them. i think our OL can (if they play well) open up lanes on pretty much any team in the country. we need to keep Teddy on the bench because it is a certainty that he will have a field day against our "defense"

Has Dorsett ever done anything to warrant the special teams playmaker moniker? I don't recall anything on special teams, even putting aside that he is still recovering from an injury.

I look at Louisvilles last Bowl game when they were a big underdog to Gators in Sugar Bowl..Beat them by 10, on big stage and neuteral field. That is pretty much the same team Canes are going to face with one exception..Bridgewater is one year older and wiser..Assume he will approach the game the same way he did the Gators---kill--kill--kill...Louisville has a better defense than we do and will probably be the deciding factor as to the games outcome..Just hoping we can keep it within ten points, without getting blown out..

Not particularly, but Jamal Carter and Burns have looked even worse IMO and Dorsett at least has excellent speed straight-line (when healthy) so if he shakes free he's gone. Coley is obviously by far option 1.

I'll say this about Louisville. I saw them play last year vs UCONN and UCONN beat them in Lousiville. When they played FLA in the Sugar Bowl I couldn't believe it was the same team I saw get beaten by UCONN...

I saw them this year vs UK and I wasnt impressed by them nor their schedule.

I think there a good team, but I def think we can win this game. The question is will D bring heat on Bridgewater. Thats the one thing he doesnt face too well sometimes.

doesnt matter. if we bring heat, we dont get there and get torched. if we dont bring heat we sit back in a soft zone and get dinked and dunked to death

No it does matter... If we bring weak blitzes then yes we get torched, but nows the time to see how well the coaches can gameplan given 3 weeks to do so

what makes you think we will see something in this game that is different than what we've seen for 3 years?
