No different than FSU basketball players suing Coach Ham over NIL.
This is college sports and pro sports.

So before people get upset with the punter, ask yourself if you would be upset with the punter on your favorite NFL team who refuses to play because the team has not met its contractual obligations.
Or whether you would show up to work if your company didn’t pay you.;

Yeah, really. Very few are showing up for work if haven’t been paid.

Said he hadn’t received his NIL money.
Remember somebody here said a long time ago UL wasn’t paying people. No contracts , no money , nada. I spoke on A&M the year they had the great class. Reading those contracts was like reading a cell phone bill circa 2003. Then kids dipped out after a year. It’s been a common issue but now kids are finally speaking up.

I'm old enough to remember laughing at pro soccer leagues in other countries like Argentina where players didn't get paid. Little did I know similar stuff was going to occur in this country in, of all places, college athletics.

Of course, this assumes that the kid's story is the accurate version.

Coaches will no longer get the benefit of an extra year. Down year, NIL starts drying up. Thus the following year less talented players. And that next year will be a wrap for a coach. Unless you pull a Norvell and use your own funds.

Sure except the school doesn't pay the NIL. Unless Louisville withheld tuition payments, forced him to cover his own meals, hotel and travel for the bowl game, and didn't pay the monthly stipend as stipulated by the scholarship the school is contractual made to pay, then it's slightly different..

With NIL in play, why do athletic scholarships still exist? The student-athlete title should be removed and the players should only be enrolled as students if they meet the school's academic standards and if they want to pursue the dehree. The players should be employees of the universities and the programs should be no different than any other fundraising program on campus.
