Louisville Post Game Plus/Minus

Duke looked good physically. The new weight definitely helped him on the few runs he got some blocks.
Kaaya showed flashes of his potential but also showed why nobody expects a lot from a true freshman QB.

I didn't see the same Stacy Coley that I saw last year. Didn't look like he was putting in the same effort after the backwards pass and his punt return that got called back.

Not even gonna discuss the O Line.

Defense showed some flashes of improvement with a couple fumbles and good pressure when it was called but they looked clueless most of the night. They had 5 months to prepare for this team and it looked like they had never watched a second of film on these guys.

I think we see why Jimbo let Coley go without a fight. Dude is really only good for recruiting. And if K.C. McDermott is going to get burn put him in and take out Gadbois slow heavy footed ***. Dude was beaten on every play. Except one. The defense showed some adjustments after the first TD but none on the offense. I don't think Duke caught one pass till the fourth quarter. I'd run maybe a couple screens to one the most dynamic players in the ACC on a couple of the 8 man rushes they had. Just horrible play calling. Probably Patrick Nix bad. If not it was worse.

with the current staff and players, after watching one week of football, we will win no more than 7 games on the high end, but should not expect more than 6. There is no less than 5 teams in the acc better than us, we will be LUCKY to ever win the coastal.

If the administration does not have the balls to tell golden to clean house and give up everything but wooing moms on the trail recruiting, they have no interest in being successful again, despite the commitment to winning they show in the new uniforms (per bomb).

And another thing, this o line play isnt changing under this staff. it is a line full of jags outside flowers, and just take a look at what is on the roster and committed, reloading jags with jags as far as the eye can see.

That's far too courteous of a summation. You could play the "yeah, but" game and still end up with a logical flaw that belongs to a professional being paid to do a job.

I dont see how we continue to keep play 10 yards off the ball when its 1st and 10. dont see how the Oline completly sucked to the point Duke a Heisman Candidate looked average.

This is going to be a rough season. Regardless of all the awesome YouTube pump up videos and the amount of ****ty idiot posters that quote 10 year old speeches.

I would recommend folks youtube old Neb/UM in a few weeks and pretend it's 2014?

Agreed on everything OP said. We also are lacking depth on defense. They were gassed at the end.

Stacy Coley is a prodigious talent, but tonight I got that Lance Leggett vibe from him on a few plays

And again, Art Kehoe, yeah.....

1. Duke was being asked to take on soldiers armed with automatic weapons. His order: "Go kick their asses with this trumpet and shield. You're that dude!"

2. Kaaya was started as a true Frosh so that we could… apparently go ahead and treat him like he was a True Frosh. For that, don't start him. His order: "We want to bring you along slowly and therefore cut the field into a 1/16th triangle for you to play in. We'll run specific plays we ran successfully last year so that Louisville can be sure to have seen them already. Good luck, kid."

3. Stacy Coley was asked to do things that Stacy Coley should not be doing. He's not a physical receiver who should be expected to win battles with his physique. He is a taller, potentially better Desean Jackson. His order: "Turn into Brandon Marshall, bro!"

4. The OLine looked bad. They missed some blocks. I don't fully blame them. Their orders: "Hey, guys, go out and run a mixed bag offense with no rhythm, rhyme and with the defense flying downhill at you essentially knowing what you're going to do. Good luck!"

5. Defense is the exact same concept with the same principles - only with some better talent. Their orders: "Hey, guys, go out there and play assignment, disciplined football that may make you feel like you're playing with lead boots on. Stay together! Good luck!"

Our team got straight punked all game long. There is no passion, fire, fight, dawg or balls on this team. Louisville was talking **** to our team all day long, trying to start a fight and we just backed down with our tails between our legs.
