Lots of commits today

I can’t express how good it would be for Miami if it is one of only a handful of states in the country that says it’s ok to play football this year.

That being said, I hope it doesn’t happen. Either way, chill out already.

We do not need the handicap. We need Lashlee/King to score 30 ppg, and Baker to hold teams less to 30 ppg. Just do the job they are capable of doing (well, maybe not Baker, but Diaz can step in and hold his pacifier for him).

I’m going to be honest, Frenk scares me a little bit. I mean he’s been pontificating about climate change and how Covid is related to that, who knows what other crackpot shlt he’s going to come up with, including not playing football. Just don’t trust him.

I wonder what the fallout will be for those schools that don’t play. You would have to imagine that kids would want to transfer and would be given eligibility waivers. If you think about it, skipping a year is not all that different from receiving the death penalty.

That's not going to happen, both the SEC & ACC commissioners have said they expect for a season to take place this year even without fans.

Schools in California & NY probably won't play this year, but everywhere else is definitely going to play in some capacity.

Yall just need to stop panicking & assuming NSD is in June & everything is already done with. Lots of time to land who we want, you guys just need to be patient.
I’ve had this discussion with a couple of my friends that are being skeptical about it but the SEC & ACC are for sure going to lead the way (TV Deals) and Texas (TV Deal) going to push the BIg 12 hard too. I know it’s a fantasy land but something like a wide open regional style Format might be a good thing to explore. Obviously a logistical nightmare rescheduling some of that but trying to keep travel to regional areas might be the best course of action and scrapping a lot of the longer OOC stuff. Getting the SEC, ACC, and Big 12 commissioners in a room and setting up some type of way to play each other is a potential solution, albeit slim but we will see what they do. I agree though. Think they find a way to play, how many games and what it looks like is anyone’s guess.

it’s exactly like giving yourself the death penalty. Yet we have some posters here that are arguing against us having a season because “players will be killed“

I would imagine that some programs just wont return. Im not sure UM would be able to return if they skipped a year. It takes a lot of money to run a football program. Coaching salaries alone is a huge amount. I can't see how a lot of universities would be able to cover that without any tv revenues.

If somehow the University Of Miami didn’t play this year and other schools did, there’s 0% chance they would NOT return. It would be a holy mess, but they would return. Why give up on that future income? That makes zero sense.

I would guess it would come down to how much money they have to cover the budget...or the will and ability to borrow the money. I'm just guessing but I can't imagine a lot of athletic departments with huge cash reserves. Just a guess.
Huge mess regardless.

Yea no chance. Absolutely zero. You don’t choke off future sources of income, for a one or two year loss. Makes absolutely zero sense.

Lots of schools are pressing kids to commit now to save their spot because of the uncertainty of the season with C19.

They're pressing the issue to build momentum in their classes, but what you should know is it's still very early & no games have been played, which means once visits are allowed on campuses & once the season starts whenever it does, a lot of these same kids are going to decommit because they committed under pressure without fully exploring their options.

The 2 main things we need to do 1) is continue to recruit our targets regardless of whether or not they gave early verbals to another school & 2) Win & have a good season once games are played.

If the season goes as regularly scheduled, if we win 10 games this year, we'll be in it for a number of recruits who everybody is pulling their hair out over now because they gave an early verbal.

It will fall on deaf ears, but those of you who have followed recruiting for longer than a season or 2 should know this by now... It's never over til it's over & verbals in Feb-August are not final.

Crootin' season starts in Nov-Jan, we still have plenty of time to pull some good targets.

Your knowledge, awareness, logic, and facts are a constant comfort.

Thanks for being here, thanks for your insight.

The only school in the ACC that may be an issue , in my opinion, is BC. Syracuse will play - upstate NY is open as of yesterday. One of the local newscasts had a a reporter in Syracuse on the news last night. Things never got bad up there. I don't think it will be an issue for them.
