Lost in all of this....Duke

We need this. Difference b/w 6-6 and 7-5 is stark. If Golden gets to 7-5 with this team after going 6-6 year before, that's marked improvement; and you can argue last year's team was more talented/experienced.

Plus that long walk to the field, GTFOH!!!! Some of you have been Cokerized and Shhannonized to rediculous levels! Canes 41 Duke 13

What incentive do our players have for winning this game? None. Duke should be the favorites.

It's their last chance to put something on film. That's a key point for a team that will head into spring with a ton of young guys in position battles.

Yes sir!

And for a few guys for the pros

Plus its a football game wouldnt most guys want to win. Arent we trying to find guys with that kind of mentality. I cant imagine Duke Johnson doesnt feel like winning Saturday

Duke scores 7 points more per game than UVA 30 to 23. UVA does outgain Duke by 30 yards a game 410 to 380

And you obviously have to take into account that UVA has gotten to play our defense while Duke hasnt so that obviously gives UVA's numbers an advantage

Although at least against Duke we should have Perryman, EJ, and Bush in the lineup

Good point. Let's not forget that Duke has played quality competition all year too

Seriously WTF? Their incentive is to win every game every week and play like a Hurricane. win the coastal. have some ******* pride. Since when does incentive need to even be brought up? That is a ridiculous opinion to have. Tell that to the players that give 110% of themselves for this team week in and out. Glad to see the mentality above is still running strong in this program :ohlord:

As for those that see BC from last season... Our team beat BC last season but Jacory literally threw the game away. I don't see Morris having a game like that. If we lose we lose but it wont be from a lack of effort.

This team will mature and grow in the off season. Hopefully, putting to rest the NCAA sanction **** once and for all. Bringing in another solid class to fill holes still left by radio and his band of misfits. The future is bright embrace the good times that are coming and not try to make these times so bad with your endless whining and complaining. Is everything perfect now? **** ******* no!! But is it getting better? Do yourself a favor imagine if radio was still here and those sanctions ripped through. Imagine what this team would look like then. If that isn't a sobering thought then I don't know what is. Quit being part of the problem get behind the team.

What incentive did BC have last year? What incentive does any team that's out of a running for a bowl have? Teams don't always roll over, there is something called pride. Heck, what incentive does Duke have? They can't win the Coastal, they're already bowl eligible.

This is the attitude Golden needs to change. Show some freaking pride. Play for your school, play for your coaches, play for your teammates, play to put your city back on the map like some of our recruits talked about last year. I'm so sick of fans (and players) having the attitude, "We're out of the running for the national title, so who cares....We're out of the running for the ACC or Coastal, so who cares." If you don't care, don't play, or follow the team if you're a player or fan respectively.

UVa moved the chains on us all day... Duke's offense is much better than UVa's i think. That, coupled with removing the team's carrot to chase (ACC title game/BCS), and I wouldn't be surprised with a loss.

GT beat Duke, U beat GT = U beats Duke?

not the attitude from the top and the players that are the new leaders, even #21! I'm looking for a good showing by these guys. Last year was a joke from the beginning! Most of these players know what was coming, so move on! Great way to make that next step heading into next year.

Not worried. We'll have Perryman, EJ, Bush and Porter all in at the same time. This team is a different beast when those guys are on the field. Expect our D to create turnovers. And Duke's defense cannot withstand our multiple-threat offense. Mismatches everywhere. Our Duke (Randy Johnson) is going to have a field day against those guys.

Have we ever lost to Duke? Yep, once in 1976. If Golden and crew are worth a ****, they will roll.

Quoting:

The Duke Blue Devils fell to 6-5 on the year after losing to Georgia Tech 42-24 on Saturday. The Blue Devils WR Vernon became the ACC’s all-time leader in yards receiving, passing former Florida State star Peter Warrrick’s record of 3,517 yards. Vernon, who began the game 35 yards behind Warrick’s mark, had five catches for 38 yards. Duke QB Renfree completed 24 of 26 passes for 198 yards and two touchdowns to go along with one interception. Duke struggled to run the ball against the Yellow Jackets, managing only 77 rushing yards in the game. The Blue Devils went 3 of 10 on 3rd down conversion and the offense only had the ball for 21 minutes in the game. Duke’s defense had no answer for the Yellow Jackets triple option attack, giving up 330 yards rushing on the day. Georgia Tech was able to pick up 28 first downs and held the ball for 38 minutes in the game.

Miami is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The over is 6-0-1 in Duke’s last 7 games against a team with a winning record.

Duke may have clinched a spot in a bowl game, but their record may only be 6-6 after this game. Miami will have a chip on their shoulders heading into this game, after they made the decision to not play in a bowl game again this year. Having said that, this is basically a bowl game for Miami, and in their season finale, they will roll all over the Blue Devils.

Their QB is kind of a sleeper. 24 of 26 sounds pretty good. Really hope our guys come to play. I'll be in the stands at Wally Wade.
