The Duke Blue Devils fell to 6-5 on the year after losing to Georgia Tech 42-24 on Saturday. The Blue Devils WR Vernon became the ACC’s all-time leader in yards receiving, passing former Florida State star Peter Warrrick’s record of 3,517 yards. Vernon, who began the game 35 yards behind Warrick’s mark, had five catches for 38 yards. Duke QB Renfree completed 24 of 26 passes for 198 yards and two touchdowns to go along with one interception. Duke struggled to run the ball against the Yellow Jackets, managing only 77 rushing yards in the game. The Blue Devils went 3 of 10 on 3rd down conversion and the offense only had the ball for 21 minutes in the game. Duke’s defense had no answer for the Yellow Jackets triple option attack, giving up 330 yards rushing on the day. Georgia Tech was able to pick up 28 first downs and held the ball for 38 minutes in the game.
