Look to the Transfer Portal: Discussion thread

Like someone said..True freshmen hitting the portal is very wild. Sheesh. And im not buying all these kids are "home sick" either which seems to be the common excuse lately.
Since there is no tampering, lol, how do they know what NIL money they will get at their next stop.
It's no longer about playing time, like it used to be.

schools know if the kid isn’t good enough after a year plus he might have a higher NIL number so they process him out. It’s the benefit of getting a kid early compared to his junior or senior year.

No school is upset with paying more to guys that develop in house

If Mario lost this kid and Dallas Wilson we'd never hear the end of it. Most of this board won't even see this because they are too busy defending lanning in the thread about the OSU/Oregon bowl game lol
Oregon had another Top247 QB in the same recruiting class, they also have former 5-star Dante Moore and they probably going after a big name in the transfer portal (rumored 6M offers were thrown around).

I'd take their QB situation against ours in a heartbeat.

I think our staff has shown a tendency not to recruit over certain players out of loyalty.
Oregon’s model appears to offer an ability to sustain top level athletes.

If Oregon is planning on bringing in someone for next year (say Ewers), they are okay with one of their recruits/underlings going in the portal. At the end of the day, it becomes a net positive for Oregon. Bird in hand (portal transfer who has solid game film) is better than 2 in the bush (recruits or underclassmen who have not yet shown anything on the field).

This is like throwing poo from inside an outhouse, but if Oregon has to get another 1 year rental QB from the portal, then they screwed up. They signed a 4-star (Novosad) in '23/ high 3-star (Moga) in '24/portaled a freshman former 5-star (Moore) in '24. One of those guys should be their starting QB next year if they're doing an OK job of evaluating QB talent.

Come on, man. Oregon won their conference and made the CFP. Losing Dallas Wilson from across the country and this kid are minor, especially with what they just did in the portal. Neither kid would play for them next year.

Anything positive to happen, at all, like anything. Just something nice
