This is true in many cases. In others it may be an acknowledgement that the game seems to have changed. The "portal first" strategy may be better than we once thought.

****** HS recruiting aside, Norvell was one bad break (pun intended, **** Travis's leg) from a playoff birth in large part because of the portal and an open offense. Still remains to be seen whether it is longterm sustainable (looking bad for Forfeit State at the moment), but he nearly got there this season and had it happened, who knows what that would do for HS recruiting.

It is rather stupid to look down on anything that improves the team. If Lane was at FSU we would be mocking him too.

Temporarily at least. And luckily they had nothing to show for it, but if Travis was healthy I think we can all agree they’d be in the playoff.

Kiffin is just revamping the defensive side though, if you look at the transfers coming in. Offense is pretty set.
