Lockhart might be playing soon

at this point i would just red shirt him already burnt Herb's shirt. But UM is loaded the next 2-3 years at WR. With the emergence of Scott,Dorsett,Lewis,AJL,Herb Waters and Hurns next year. I seriously doubt UM takes Cunningham in this class...

With Thompkins and Davon graduating this year and Lewis suffering an injury that could potentially end his career, I can see why they want to bring Lockhart along this season. Don't want to go into next season with just Dorsett/Hurns/Scott/Waters, you need more than that. AJL will probably play right away when he gets here, too.

Is it actually a possible career ending injury? I thought it was simply dislocated and was more of a problem because it was the ankle. (I don't know much about physcial therapy past my own injuries)

Interdasting. I really thought Lockhart would definitely play this season, but getting held up like he did by the clearinghouse (which will never make sense to me) ****ed things up. I say if he's ready to go now, play him.

Same goes for Ivery. He all but siad Ivery would be playing this week.

Ivery is definitely playing it sounds like.

Lockhart doesn't sound like as quite a sure thing as Ivery. He sounds really close though.

Since he played prep ball last year can he even redshirt? IIRC, I thought if you go prep you have 4 years to play 4 (meaning no redshirt).

No, you can redshirt regardless if you came from HS, prep, or even JUCO. Think of prep as basically a 5th semester/year of HS. FYI, only JUCO would affect eligibility (even then you could redshirt).

Forget the redshirt. Don't forget, we aint got no TE's. Fisch likes the 5 wide empty sets too. And we need some bigger targets in the redzone.

Golden has mentioned needing our TEs to make some kind of impact: 6-7 receptions a game.

I don't know if this will be their game, but Walford and Cleveland need to step up. TEs should be QBs best friend.

We've all witnessed TEs destroy us for years. We should be able to do the same to other teams.

Love me some Lockhart. Only thing that has been holding him back is learning the playbook.

He is probably our most complete WR from a skillset standpoint. He's a leaper and more of a redzone target than any of our current guys IMO

Lockhart is good for one spectacular catch on a fade route or go route

If that results in just one TD.......one FG range catch........or even one first down

then having him in the game is worth it

If he can help us right now there is zero reason to red shirt him. If game experience is what he needs it doesn't do him a bit of good to sit the bench.

Awesome. He was definitely one of the most compelling WR recruits from the recent class.
