Not even close! In his 3 years as D coordinator he was at the bottom of the field in 3rd down completion against and dead last in 4th down completion against. So the whole point of a defense when you take all the nerd stats away that Manuela always loves to throw out there, is to stop the opposing teams offense on downs so you can get the ball back to your offense to score. So in the most important aspect of defense Mandys smoke and mirrors gimmicky scheme fails. So no, he’s not close to a top defensive coordinator In CFB if you actually pay attention to the job of actually stopping the other teams offense on the money downs of 3rd/4th.
