Now 4-7 in his last 11 regular-season games in a Top 5-ish CFB job after losing last night to Minnie Soda

Went 66-13 in his first six seasons as a head coach.

Third season with USC, so this is unequivocally his roster and his staff.

Has Riley lost it for good, quickly devolving into another underachieving "offensive genius" like Tom Herman or Kliff Klingsbury?

Get the sense Riley is just some small town West Texas weirdo who cares about developing QB and drawing up plays but literally nothing else that's required of being a head coach at this level.

I'd literally rather have Manny Diaz or even Al Golden running the show in CG than this twerp who's seems to pretty much be mailing it in at this point

Lol, stop.
I have made my thoughts on Riley clear. I too think he is a bit overhyped and stated they’d be an 8-4/9-3 at best squad this year but be forreal 🤣🤣🤣.

As bad as ManDi and Folden were (and they were really, really bad), at least they actually gave a flip if they won or not.

Riley is just picking up a pay check

He looks to me to be a very good Xs and Os guy on the offensive side of ball.
He would make a very good NFL OC.
But in today's college football, especially at a school like USC, you have to be more than an Xs and Os guy.
You need to be a GM and CEO as well.
For some of his game day coaching issues, a young Butch Davis would have killed it in today's game, especially with strong backing from school and boosters not name Donna Shalala and Paul Dee.

His best years were at Oklahoma when he had elite OL play with awesome rb talent. And then also guys like lamb and Westbrook

My take - be careful offering Coaches big contracts after they win based on having an elite QB
- This guy was considered the QB whisper with multiple Heisman winners
- However I think in many cases the coach gets to much credit and more credit need to go to the player

Riley is a lot closer to Jimbo Fisher than he is to Ryan Day, except even Jimbo has a ring.

How do you go 7-5 with Caleb Williams? How do you lose to a Michigan team that thinks the forward pass is a sin?

Next OC.. He can focus on what he is good at and not worry about all that other stuff.. :xvfmlqq:

Next OC at (insert whoever among Bama, Texas, UGA, OSU, or LSU need an OC when he becomes available)

He’s probably safe for another year but eventually USC is going to get tired of being an also-ran.

He picked those QBs though.

We slam Al Golden...

He would have had a very different career arc at Miami with a Manny Diaz-like DC....

Not sure if he’s the right fit at USC-If this trend continues beyond next year he’ll get fired-
