Like to get the thoughts on Herb Waters as a recruit

What was the consensus on Herb coming out? Was looking at his offer list the other day and there a couple big timers there but his offer list essentially says he was super regional recruit, as opposed to just a regional recruit. Just wanted some thoughts on what people think his ceiling is and the type of prospect he was coming out.

I was a fan and I know bomb was too based on a camp we saw him live at. Didn't have that explosiveness or speed, but showed great hands and what really got my attention was the attitude. You could just tell he had that "it" factor.

I loved him. Kid is smooth and just make plays. Might not be the fastest, but fast enough. Once he gets some size and more experience, kid could be really good.

Herbs biggest fan was Bakas but there was definitely mixed reviews. Most were really high on him but of course you had the tards too.

I thought he was more of an Allen Hurns type but he showed last year he has big play ability for sure.

I thought Herb was the type of ATH coming out of HS that could play WR or DB. He the type of kid that plays faster than his listed 40 time.

I love Herb Waters. Couldn't tell you about him as a recruit. I took two years off from following recruiting before it sucked me back in. But **** the stopwatch, he's plenty fast enough in pads.

When I first heard his name I thought he was someone's Grandfather.

The prevailing thought was that he looked great on the field but people were afraid because he didn't test well at combines. This lead to a lot of "let him go to Louisville" crap.

Most of the people that know Dade well thought he was a playmaker that would be an impact player at The U after seeing what he did against good HS comp. No one thought he would do it this early, and he probably wouldn't have save for injuries.

Bakas initially had him rated higher than Cooper but following the season moved Cooper to his number one overall spot in Florida. He was a huge Waters guy from the beginning.

This. Personally I liked him based on the comments about his competitive attitude.

I live in South Miami Heights and went to alot of Southridge and Homestead games. Waters was a superstar but had no QB. He was smooth, and one of the best athlete on the team. Big, strong, smooth, and fast enough for BCS. I compared him to Amari Cooper of NW who I saw for 2 years with TB and even thought that Waters was better than cooper. Also saw a couple of South Florida Express practices and still thought the same. It was at the 7on7 where his talent really showed up cause he had TB throwing to him. I think Waters could have gotten some earlier playing time but kid has problems with playbook. He was always underestmated and continues to be. He will be an NFL kid for many years.

Kid seemed more than fast enough to me.

Some of these kids just don't know how to run 40's properly. There is a surprising amount of technique to it.

**** I love this guy. Looked smooth in his limited action this season. I honestly don't think speed is a factor with him at all . At worst, he's as fast as Hurns. The kid just looks like he'll make plays here for the next few seasons.

What he showed as a True Frosh was just about what people expected of him...

...in his second or third year.

^Dorsett. And if Malcom Lewis can come back at 100% (both physically, and more critically psychologically) he will be ******* insane. Dude was getting ready to light it up as a true freshmen multiple times early in the season, while Herb Waters began to show some very promising flashes late.
