Fans with wifi, some youtube clips read a few "stories" on the net and suddenly think they are all D1 recruiting coordinators, lol.

If Miami doesn't win, we all **** on the internet. But Golden, his staff and their families don't eat. Guy has been recruiting up a storm in the worst environment short of PSU. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt.

And while were at it, lets maybe not rip on a 17 year old kid who is not only going to be a Cane, but comes from the bloodlines of greatness, is son to one of the greatest to ever lace them up.

The same guys ripping RLIII here would be killing the staff for taking Ray Lewis if the internet was prevalent back then. Enough. Lay off, people.

I'm one of the few people on here, people who work in business, restaurants, car washes, entertainment, landscaping, and fast food service, to admit that I'm not qualified to make recruiting decisions. Especially since I have maybe 10% of the information that a coaching staff who vets these kids properly does.

Guess what? If you were qualified to make evaluations, you'd be making evaluations. But you're not. ****, the NFL, with 4 years of ABC, ESPN and coaches tape, doctors, wonderlics, work outs, and more of fully developed adults, misses in the draft 50% of the time.

But you think you are qualified to evaluate 17 year old kids off of youtube.com clips? Wow.

Your logic is so off its not even funny. So in order to have an opinion on something you must be in the field? That makes total sense.

Anyways, Pick a side. Do you think RL3 is Miami material or not? Because all I see from 95% of your posts is a lot of words but little substance.

What side are you on?

Easy fellas. The undeniable fact of the matter is, no matter how many stars someone has; no matter his measureables, or intangibles, or bloodline or speculation, or..., we won't know the final outcome for another 4 years at least. There's a lot that can and will happen during that time and we have no idea what the "finished product" is going to be (with any of these recruits). What we can all agree on is that every one of us (or at least most of us) want what's best for the U. And if AG feels that it's in our best interest to take a questionable recruit, then I'll trust him until he proves otherwise. Love the conversation and opinions, not the competition to see who thinks they know more.

the thing about a guy like Lewis is this: doesn't Golden talk about having 'coal shovelers'? In other words, just the blue-collar, role-playing worker that may never be a star but will do all the tough, lil things that might go un-noticed to the casual viewer like playing on return units or being versatile and being able to play different spots- and most importantly accepting that role

Lewis, despite his bloodlines, might be one of those guys, which is fine. There's a huge difference between collecting talent and putting together a complete roster.

Golden is correct, if you go back to the great UM teams of the past, they had great role players( off the top of my head; Markese Fitzgerald, James Lewis, Bubba McDowell, CJ Richardson, Dale Dawkins, Leonard Conley) who were never stars, waited their turns and made important contributions around the star players.

Apparently you haven't gotten the memo. Only those of us with collegiate experience are allowed to criticize anyone related to UM.

You can say whatever you want. Its a free country. If you want to rip a 17 year old kid because you get off thinking you're qualified to evaluate talent in your cubicle or behind a bar, that's your own special problem.

Actually what I wrote was merely a jab at another poster who has become known for repeating that nonsense, but it's nice to see that you still are quick to unload a bunch of passive-aggressive quips the second you feel threatened. Says a lot about you.

The kid had talent beyond any star ranking, or Golden wouldn't have offered him. He's done pretty well on a few others like that, as I recollect.

See, Golden and crew get to look at a kid. Talk to them. Talk to their coaches.

The wannabe experts here too often watch five minutes of tape, and they know better than the entire coaching staff combined. You guys should be studying maps and telling the geological engineers where the frikkin' oil is.

Oh FFS, there´s no denying that, in a year with very limited schollies and a lot of great talent interested in us that RLIII would be a bad take as a scholarship player. No, Golden is not infallible (had some very questionable coaching moments last season, just like any coach, Saban and all the "superstars" included). RLIII is not even close to being a Miami calibre HB, y´all can see that yourselves, no need to be an "expert". Could he be a very valuable "glue" player? I´m sure he could. But the more important question is this:

In a year with limited schollies, would a millionaire who loves the team allow his mediocre son to fill a spot that could otherwise go to a better player? Why should he?
