On a National level, they have always sucked (their OOC record against BCS conferences, and ranked ones especially, is atrocious). A consistant ACC "power". This season, they will be no better or little worse than they always are. When other teams step up out of ACC mediocrity (Miami, FSU) they fall out of the picture.
It takes a half dozen turnovers, poor preperation, scared players and/or choking (VT does excel at dirty play) to lose to those jive turkeys. They just sit on the **** ball on offense, and figure to score when the opponent's offense throws pick 6's and 3 and outs (as we did so often during the Coker/Radio years),
Even last year's defense was more than a match for sorry *** Logan. Our playcalling and Morris were awful on offense, and we still controlled the game and should have thrashed them by four touchdowns.
Unfortunately, we are a Mulligan for VT every year, and they know it and thus play with abandon. Even when we beat them, it's a given that we choke and puke against UNC, UVA ad nauseum, so they have nothing to lose, as we always lose two more games to awful Coastal teams.
I think Golden rights the ship soon, and VT goes back to where they belong, a 2-3 Coastal flunky.
Not worried about VT. It's sorry *** UNC and UVA that we can never beat.
