Let's talk Georgia Tech

The next two games are huge for us. Opponents we should handle but the teams are good enough that if the boys dot show up we could be in for an upset... BUT this won't be allowed by Alfred Golden.

lol its funny how ppl just want to act like analyst on this board but just end up talking in complete circles....

This team isnt going to "not show up" for a game, so relax.

actually having to read your post saying that Miami could be in for an "upset" against a garbage team like GT or anyone else on this schedule not named FSU is annoying.

you don't know if they will show up. The past few years every time we've built some momentum and thought we were turning the corner we've had that WTF loss to an average or mediocre ACC team (Clemson, BC, Virginia, UNC, etc). GT isn't garbage, they are average, and can beat us if we aren't focused and ready to play like all those other teams have.

With an ACC loss already plus a game left @Clemson this game is huge for them as well.

I was shocked they laid that egg at home against VT, but VT matched up with them well on the defensive front, and we do to. I think our offense is much, much better than VT's and we will be playing at home in our first conference game. Got to jump on them early and make that high school offense start taking chances. I was stunned they didnt even try a 2 minute offense down by a touchdown with very little time left, that was head scratching and almost archaic from a major college football standpoint.

lol oh ok....

I know you all are hoping they wont show up, so you can mope but thats not going to happen.... Miami last year didnt even lose to a team that was inferior to them so why would they this year???.... they only lost to teams that were better or as "good" as Miami.

Miami's not going to get "upset" by anyone on our schedule.... the FSU game is the only equal competition I see.

Yeah I'm bold enough to say it b/c its the truth.

Our division is trash, I will agree with that. Looking at how VT, GT, and UNC have played against each other and the other teams they have faced it's pretty obvious.

Call it an inferiority complex or whatever you want, however, but its hard to have lived through the last decade as a 'canes fan and have faith that we will roll anyone after 3 wins against garbage teams (one of whom had a running back that tore us up today) and one win against Florida. I want to believe Florida is good, but Driskel was just terrible and they haven't really played anyone else (I will never believe they gave us that game, though).

GaTech is the litmus test for me and I refuse to get excited unless we crush them. Big gulps.

so we were as good or worse than the 4-8 Virginia Cavaliers last year?

I cant disagree with Z3C here...o my god!!

Yes seeing as Miami was predicted to only win 4 games last year..... struggled to beat BC, last minute saving TD pass against NcSt, late minute drive against GT in OT were the 3 games that couldve easily been losses.

GT has a Tiny OL. Our front 7 SHOULD have a feast. Keyword being "SHOULD".

In theory...yes. The problem is that **** scheme. It doesn't even matter how small their lineman are, they are simply asked to dive at the oppositions knees immediately after the snap. It's all about the linebacker play behind that initial dive block mess at the line of scrimmage.

We should win this game by double digits. I want to believe this team has turned the corner.

hmmmm......

GT has no shot.
They haven't been able to run up the middle against anyone all year. Including Duke. If the dive isn't working for them, they aren't going to have success against even average defenses.

I have a feeling after the sluggish ending to the USF game Golden will have everyone's attention. They;ll be ready. I'm really liking what the defense is doing so far this year, they're not perfect but the line is playing well.

If we play with the gap discipline we did against UiF we will crush them.

Also today I saw a lot of discipline our there during the shifts. Many times I saw the D identify and then the proper guy stayed home and made a play. Its a beautiful thing to watch after the fiasco last season.

The novelty of their offense has worn off.

We own them now. Blandy figured them out and Golden has them figured out.

We roll.

Do what we did the past 4 years and the winning streak will be 5. Maintain your gaps and make them pass.

We've beaten them 4 years in a row with less talent and maturity. I doubt that ends, with what looks like our best defense in years.

Canes will roll and they will be chasing Paul Johnson out of town. Trust me on this.

GT has a starting NT that is Avery undersized. We will exploit that.

We beat them with the worst canes defense in history. Same result this year except it will be more lopsided.

I don't think they have much of a shot at all. Since '09 we usually punch them right in the mouth right away and keep it going throughout the game. Last year was the exception, due to the terrible defense.
