Let's take stock...

Bakas thinks UM has a great shot with Keith. Made it sound like somehing changed

Yeah but then he hedged and said it was still likely FSU. But agreed he does make it sound like our situation has improved with him.

But I'll say it again....that tweet pretty much spilled the beans...he's going to FSU

If we lost carter I would be hella disappoint. Unlike others I have never compared anyone to Sean Taylor. He's the closest I've seen.

By all accounts, Collins/Grace/Coley/Brooks have told the staff they are coming. What happens with Kirkland, 6, Bostwick, and Bryant is anyone's guess

Well, the word coming from those around Golden is that the class is full and that's even before this weekends visitors... If we are taking 19 to 20 as its been stated, well then 6 or 7 have to be coming from those name above or those that have visited...
If you remove Kirkland based on what we know now, Edwards because he is just visiting, Robinson being a heavy LSU lean and either Bryant or Bostwick that leaves 6 great names! Coley, Grace, Thomas, Collins, Brooks and either Bryant or Bostwick. Humm, not bad...

Is there anybody else who has visited that has not signed elsewhere? If so, they maybe the 6 or 7th person.

What really bothers me about Bostwick is that UF already has like 4 or 5 DT's committed in this class.

I mean honestly....how can we not convince him based on the depth chart alone? Of all the remaining wavering guys this is the one that puzzles me the most...should be a lock by this point.

Could be grades.

Exactly!!! Been thinking that for a while.

Olsen
Collins
Odogwu
Gall
Knighton
Dobard
Sandland
Coley
Brooks
Kamalu
Muhammad
Bond
Figueroa
Grace
Carter
Burns

That's 16. Room for 2 more going by Barry Jackson's count.

Coley - Cash, IOU have said they feel confident I think. Pete feels confident. Ferman seems to think he's coming but little more hesitant (in public). Bakas - ?
Grace - everyone feels confident.
Collins - Ferman saying Arkansas. Bastion (?) saying Arkansas. Cash, IOU, & Pete saying Canes. Bakas - ?
Thomas - no one seems to feel confident here for Canes. FSU folks confident.
Kirkland - don't think anyone has opined after the meeting.
Edwards - Ferman has him at 50%. Pete seems to feel confident but not sure to what degree. Bakas - ?
Brooks - everyone seems to think he's a Cane.
Bostwick - no one feels confident for Canes here.
Bryant - no one feels confident, but Ferman, Pete, Tito, all saying there's a small chance. Bakas - ?
Robinson - ditto. No one feels confident but everyone saying there's a chance.

Is that pretty much where all the 'insiders' stand as of Saturday night?

RCT insider has Coley to us....probably as solid an insider as there is.

As far as Rashad. I don't know what his grades look like. He might be borderline getting into Miami but good to go getting into LSU. Clearinghouse can be "funny" too. Up to him and his Fam/people around him if they wanted to take the chance of him not getting into Miami this year and having to Go prep and then coming back next year. LSU isnt always on the "UP AND UP" for prospects they REALLY want. Him being at ELY too.....

Chances are meaningless with days to go. It's relevant to say 50/50, or 70/30 with 6 weeks to go. But with signing day next week and the no contact period coming up, it's now binary. Either you call it right or you don't.

Definitely a crazier year than usual. I think it's a few things all at once. Harris undermining AG doesn't help. $EC teams are going hog wild. The NCAA investigation of UM has been a serious cloud. Ten years of **** play hasn't helped our brand. And frankly, some of it is random -- a kid like Duke is a Cane through and through. This year's class doesn't seem to have that kid.

All in all ... hope it's a better situation next year.

The OOS kids (Gall, Dobard, Olsen) were as rock solid as Duke..

Someone said it was best for Coley to come to Miami for personal reasons as well. FSU can let kids take that "rock-star" life to another level up there.

Didn't LSU boards even admit Carter was all canes on his visit....not worried.

Yeah but LSU missed out on some other kids recently. Carter will be a Cane. Speaks to the kind of upside/talent ol boy has for LSU to PUSH.

Posted this in another thread and meant to post this here

I'ma just say the same thing I said with regard to Manti Te'o. Once you lie or do something sideways that makes me question your character, I'm taking every thing with many grains of salt. I'm hesitant to believe that Matthew Thomas was never really considering us. I'm extremely hesitant to believe that. It's out there now that Ice has an axe to grind against the program and it would be to his own edification, to say "hey look, he was never even looking at you guys, but we got him to look at Miami", which doesn't jive with you yourself stepping in and cancelling his visit to Miami and shipping him off to SoCal.

I don't believe a word of what Ice said to Manny, because his motives are at best questionable at this point. We may not get 6, but I won't give a **** bit of credence to anything that guy says. I'll wait til Wednesday and trust in AG.
