Lets just enjoy this wild ride (L'Ville thoughts)

ACCN should have been at the Miami @ Louisville game instead of SMU blowout at Stanford. I don't know how ACCN visits are decided but if you were going to be at any of our games--this one was the one.

Likely wanted to avoid following Miami around every week

- So Miami survives L'ville and really, their own defense and special teams, they are now 7-0 after a 52-45 victory on the road. My fellow Miami fans, lets just enjoy this ride. We may not be a true national title contender (again, that secondary) but this is fun to watch. A few thoughts on the game...

- Cam Ward -- whatever he got in his NIL deal, it aint enough. It's not even about the stats, it's the control of the game he has. In the past, Id have a quesy feeling about stuff when things went bad. But with 1, I know we're good offensively. A few times Miami needed drives and like FedEx they delivered

- Great to see Damien Martinez step up(really the whole run game). Today, he earned his NIL package from UM

- Sam Brown, another guy who has been spotty, hit some big plays

- Say it with me again: Xavier Restrepro is an all-time great Miami Hurricane. It's really that simple and obvious at this point

- OK, the stuff that concerns me, the secondary. I get it, we don't have Phil Buchanon, Ryan McNeil and Sean Taylor back there. But Miami needs not only just faster guys, but smarter ones. To be slow and dumb is a terrible combo. Certain guys I wouldn't put out there but Lance Guidry may have no choice. College football isnt at that point where they have a waiver wire(yet) so these issues will not be fixed till the off-season. Bottom line

Damari Brown is missed. But I think it goes just beyond his absence.

- Upfront, I thought the Dline did a good job of getting pressure, but credit has to be given to Tyler Shough. The guy hung tough and made difficult throws. I thought coming in that Brohms' boys and Shough was the best offense and QB Miami would face. That came to fruition

- Couple coaching gripes: Why not just go for the touchback every time? Just give the ball to the other team at the 25 after every score? Up 31-17 right after the half, Cullen Lacy (who had nearly busted other returns earlier) houses it, and a game that the Canes were in complete control off, unravels

- Also, the fake punt, in that situation, understanding that L'Ville knows that they cant stop Miami, will pull out ALL the stops. That's Pop Warner stuff -- and they got caught with their pants down. This game was a shootout but Miami really kept this game closer than it should've been

- OK, with all that, hey winning is better than losing, right? Now, we move onto Florida State at the Rock. See you guys there?
On the one TD pass Louisville had, miami dropped 8 and shough still fit in tight window and threw a TD. Maybe he is good or out secondary is lacking good players right now.

What exactly is damari brown's injury again and i hope he makes it back next week?

We seem to be missing a lot of tackles too so not sure what is going on with our D other than players just aren't talented enough to be coached up better especially in our secondary. I don't think Guidry forgot to coach.

I think we should play more Patterson in secondary and once damari Brown comes back we should be better there. Our offense and Ward is the strength of the team obviously. Ward should win the heisman if he keeps this strong play up as he is that important to miami's team and success.

Sam Brown definitely has improved and Restrepo is one of the all time great University of Miami WR's period.

Will be see any of Ny carr or jojo Trader this year?

Miami's TE's have been very good also.

Nice mention on Ryan McNeil. I would give a left leg to have Darryl Williams back there at the Safety

I'd settle for guys like Hurlie Brown, Charles Pharms, Kenny Berry, CJ Richardson, Terris Harris, Casey Greer, Malcolm X Pearson, Bobby Harden, Paul White etc -- guys who weren't superstars but were incredibly reliable and gave us solid reliable play week in and week out.

Not everyone will be Ed Reed -- but they shouldn't be as bad as we've seen from this secondary
