Like Wake Forest? i.e. Shouldnt the game plan be the power running game with Gus the Bus and DC?

Stretch plays won't work against them. We need to run straight at them.

Miami is coached well on defense. Jimbo alluded to that last night.

Coached well on defense? Jimbo is saying that **** to mess with us. Of course he wants that defense to remain. They have won 4 in a row and 3 in a row against that well coached defense

If there was a time to play an aggressive man scheme, this is the game. Spy with an LB, let the DBs do work.

Logan Thomas is a bigger version of Morris. Lots of arm talent, erratic, and prone to mental mistakes.

VT has zero talent at WR, TE, and cannot run the ball.

Agree. Watching their game yesterday he played pretty well when BC played soft zone. Once they got aggressive and started attacking him he turned to sh*t and turned the ball over.

Thats before they play us. I gaurantee you Logan Thomas will throw for 300-350 yards against us. If he doesnt ill eat crow. And before anyone blames the offense. Duke shut that bish down with no offense.

Smash mouth football .... And then let Thomas shoot his team in the foot with costly ints to benefit us

What would you have did differently as a coach last night?

For one when i blitz, i would have all the DBs on the line of scrimmage except one very deep safety, and ruff the **** out there WRs, i would frustrate them to the point they stop thinking about the routes and about Howard Gunter and Crawford. I would challenge every single throw. You remember when New England use to man handle the Colts WRs back in the day?....thats what im talking about. We are a predominantly a Zone team, i would play mostly man coverage. You ever heard of a coverage sack? D No has never heard of that. I would give up a few big plays im sure, but nothing short, no dump off to the tailback and TE. Nothing easy. Our philosophy is the other way around. We give them everything easy.

Bud foster and the defense will give Miami fits.. Always has..
The QB draw will kill us.. Logan is there leading rusher.. This game will be a dogfight.. Like the canes in a double OT thriller 6-3..

Perspective on VT from their fans:

1) LT is playing his guts out. He does make a bad decision here and there but mostly because he is constantly hit, harassed and chased and the opposition knows he IS our offense. I admire him for his willingness to do what CFB asks of him knowing he is in for a beatdown every game. Hokies owe him a big "Thank You" for putting his natural ambitions in the NFL aside and playing quarterback because our coaches failed to recruit one! He's not perfect but he's the best we have or somebody else would be playing QB. CFB is stubborn but he is not dumb.

2) Our O-Line is horrible and has been for years. Lack of recruiting and softness at the position has killed our running game and made LT look worse than he is. They should apologize to him after every game. I made it a point to watch them yesterday and I saw poor technique, slow feet and lack of toughness. If we need 1 yard with 4 downs to get it chances are it's not going to happen. Doesn't matter who the opponent is. That is a fact and it is ominous. Not many D1 teams have that concern.

3) Our RBs are an absolute disaster. Stutter steps and sideways running is our mantra. Maybe there are no holes to hit. Maybe they can't see the few that are there. Again, lack of recruiting has left the cupboard bare. We have no game breakers. LT is our #1 RB. Sad.

4) No more special team magic. One 56 yard field goal does not a season make. Nobody fears our special teams anymore. What happened?

5) Our D looks uninspired right now. A season of carrying the load has taken its toll. Injuries too. When you're on the field all the time injuries happen.

All-in-all, a very predictable season. The good start was an anomoly and we are what we are. A great defensive team with no offensive bite that must out-fight the opposition on every play to eek out a win. When that doesn't happen...well....we get beat by Duke and Boston College.
I find it hard to believe with our history that we cannot maintain at least a top 40 offense in D1. We are consistently around 100. Are you telling me that Northern Illinois can do it but we can't? I find this dilemma to be most remarkable.

I'm a hokie through-and-through but I feel major changes need to be implemented immediately or this death spiral may be just beginning. And ladies and gentlemen that takes nothing away from anything CFB has done for our university. You can just see the product on the field and you know there is a problem...and there has been for years. As my old boss at work used to tell me there is no such thing as maintaining...You're either moving forward or you're being usurped by the ones who are. And that pretty much sums up Hokie Football at the moment.

I have 0 trust in S. Morris to win this game. We need the OL to do more power blocking which seems to suit DC better anyway. If we need Morris to win this one we are in trouble.

I watched a little of the BC Va Tech game and BC was running straight at them getting big chunks of yardage..
