lets be real can we beat fsu with morris

Like I said in the other thread. We have the playmakers on D to beat FSU.

I don't think they are going to be able to pound us in the run game and that is gonna open some doors for the one man slaughterhouse. (#17)

#3 can make plays too. He is growing up massive amounts every week.

Every game is different. Hopefully Coach D isn't as content with sitting back and letting receivers roam freely through our coverage and our front 7 plays like they did the entire game against U***, we can definitely limit them offensively. We just have to be more aggressive in our D play calling. Offensively, Coley needs to call a smart game and obviously StepMo needs to execute. We played our worst game against UNC, let's force FSWHO to play their worst game against us. Simple as that. We have every bit of the talent that they do, our coaches just have to put that talent in good position to make plays!!!
 
we can't play like we have the past few games. we need the d to show up like the florida game too
 
1. pound the rock, oline needs to destroy people
2. eat up clock and keep winston off the field (probably not realistic, we suck at sustaining long drives)
3. confuse winston, bring 6-7 guys right up to the line and zone blitz
4. play some man defense, winston will kill our zone
5. score one on special teams
6. no turnovers
7. get duke the ball in a variety of ways

Just depends on which Morris shows up.

Winston eats you alive with short, high-percentage throws.

Morris prefers longshot, low-percentage throws.

Winston just breaks your heart.

Morris's interceptions and throw to the third county over also breaks your heart.

Will we? Depends.... IMO, we need to establish the ground game early and utilize the underneath stuff more, especially to Walford. Can't have SM chucking it down the field 50 yards every other play. Protect and CONTROL the **** ball. That FSU offense can be lethal, and we need to keep em off the field as long as possible.

More importantly, on D, D'onofrio needs to mix it up and confuse Winston. Can't sit back and let him rip you apart. MUST PUT PRESSURE ON WINSTON!!! The front 4 alone will not suffice. Mix in a blitz or two or three, but be creative.

We will beat FSU one way or another. Whether its Nov 2nd or the ACCCG....they gon Git Got.

if we can cover that night and blitz like crazy we in there...I just don't think Famous Winston has been hit as much as he needs to be..

This is the best FSU team I've seen in years. I don't think the issue is Morris. I think we're not as talented in a number of areas as we've been in the past, and as FSU is now.

I think we're a year or two away of being worthy of a ranking near the top five, maybe even the top 10. Sorry, but I've been a Canes fan for longer than most here have been living, and I'm not drinking the kool-aid about this team. We're tremendously improved, have a winning attitude and passion that we've lacked for years, but when I look around, I see some solid to good players at a lot of positions, but not the kind of superior kids we've had on our best teams. We're at least a year away, probably two.

I hope I'm wrong. I want to destroy those ********.

It's going to be very tough to do. I get a 43-20 feel for that game.

We are growing up and rapidly improving but they are a buzz saw at this point and at home.
 
Gotta move the ball, score on offense. Gotta slow them down, keep them from scoring, on defense.

The concern with Morris is he barely completes over 50% of his passes against bad defenses.Has what 9tds and 8 ints so far this year,is injured and will face elite speed all over the field at FSU.Will take all he has to win that game.

That's not our game for better or for worse. When do we ever show 6 or 7 rushers at the LOS?
And chew clock? Haven't seen that in a long time.
