Leonard Taylor is impressing today

CIS gon hate this.
You really think people on here don’t want him to do well just because we criticized him?
He went undrafted for a reason.

I hope to god he makes the squad and gets an nfl pension someday.
But no one here was cheering for him to be barely drafted.
Like it or not the criticism towards him was legit.

Yes

I’m still surprised nobody took a flier on the pedigree alone. It’s not like had no production while here. He must have gotten horrid reviews or disastrous interviews.

Count me as one of his biggest critics. Simultaneously I’m rooting for him to succeed. It would make for a great story and I’ll always root for a Cane. Except K2. F that creeper.

Sure, he did some things, but I was continually disappointed by his on the field play. I don't even feel like he had one great game his entire career here.

When you make a final roster, that means you can play at an elite level. He never looked like an NFL player to me. That's where we seem to have a disconnect in this conversation. Little flash plays don't do it for me.

He wasn't going to get drafted on film here either. The poor combine performance and interviews just solidified what people mostly thought. Here's a guy who might look the part a few times a game, but he vanishes the rest of it. Even if he made a late round, made the active roster, that would still suggest to me that we failed to get more out of him.

Irregardless, hope it works out for him. I'm not one to hate on these young men. I'm not even concerned with leaving a year of eligibility on the table. Three years is enough time to show who he was going to be here under past and present coaches.

NGL, I thought he played well enough last season to be a 4th or 5th rounder based on play. As Gogeta noted, we were asking him to play 1 tech a lot of the time. We definitely were asking him for gap control more than gap penetration (no @Confidence1000 , I won't say it). Just look at how badly we performed after he got injured to see the positive impact he had on the DL. And then you add in the athletic potential for growth, I wouldn't have been shocked to see him creep into the bottom of the third. ... But that was before the NFL's background checks and he performed like a JAG at the combine.

LT should have returned. But we ended up with Barrow, who may turn out to be even better. Fingers crossed.

Flash plays were never his issue. Down to down consistency was
I agree but luckily for him he’s not gonna need to be “the man” on that Dline just make some plays(flashes) when he takes his 10 or 15 snaps a game in a reserve role spot that he’s working to get

Sucks but he can still make a career for a few years with his talents

Barrow should perform great. LT56 will be successful in the league! Him and JW20. Jus watch! I don’t want no Canes fans claiming them either after all the **** these fans gave those 2

We wouldn't we claim him? No one was against LT. They were just ****ed he didn't return after never fully achieving his potential. And he probably would have made the same in NIL, so it feels like he just wanted to move on. Seems like a natural fan reaction to me.

Yeah ok

It's better for the program when our players do well in the League.

What’s more important is for poRsters to be proven correct in their predictions about certain players. We have a CiS reputation to uphold here, after all.

He had an underrated year last year but it went under the radar because he was playing 1T, something he has never done but he sacrificed his natural game and adjusted well. Probably was our 2nd best dlineman after bain

The 5star label set everyone expectations too high, whatever you think about him he was a starter every year he was here and was a good valuable player. On top of that he was a guy that could’ve went any where out of hs but stayed

I just dont like that almost every thread on a pro cane where someone is showing there highlights or something positive we just come in and talk about the negative attributes or moments they had here.

Fox had a short pregame feature on the three undrafted guys who made the 53 man roster. They spoke to Taylor briefly. He's a tough interview; doesn't present well. Hopefully he can get some advice/help on that front , especially if his career progresses and he has to do more interviews
