Leonard Taylor is impressing today

He looks like a dancing bear out there today, he played early on so he is playing against legit comp. He has a great chance to make the team. I’m happy for him!

Should never have been in question to begin with. Guy has always had the talent, needed the heart. Maybe NFL money and the fear of failure is enough to motivate him now. I really hope so, we need some Pro Cane DTs to rep the U.

LT III’s brilliance is good, but let’s see if he can make the team and remain consistent throughout the season. I am pulling for him.

I saw a couple of other Canes connections on the Jets. Jets also have Tyler Harrell, who caught a nice pass, and Al Blades Jr.

Al Blades made their dance team?! Big time!

Nice work on the first play.

The second, the OL screwed up there and left him unblocked. To his credit, he did what he should do.

Hooe he makes it to the active roster.. Should that happen, his name will most certainly be added to the list of names through two decades where we couldn't get them to work out here for some reason.

he started every szn he was here he worked out. He just left with an extra year of elgibility there.
Had he came back he would be staring agaion...not working out is washouts and transfers.

Still wished he had stayed another year.
It would have helped him and us all at the same time.

Hope the kid makes the squad..
yea he was the one i thouhgt should of convince to stay.

He would have had a better year with a guy like cj clark next to him. or whomever else. But when he signed he said he would be here 3 years and stuck to it.

He likely has more talent than most in that dt room for the jets. If he doesnt make there if he continues here he will be on someones active roster.

We have different definitions. He didn't perform at a consistently high enough level to warrant making a final roster. His draft pick suggested that while he flashed on occasion, he was exactly as I described.

When you go the UDFA route, people whose business this is, didn't even use a pick on you. Heck, most would agree that the late rounds are just there to take someone as they don't work out long term.

he wasnt drafted because he interviewed poorly and tested poorly...got the lazy or whatever narrative puit on him..and followed it up by not being prepared for the combine. confirming the narrative to some.
If you put ont he tape he is doing some things...**** last year we had him in a one something he didnt even do in high school. Hes always been a 3 tech type at dt.

UM isnt in the afc east...so what he did here is probably what i care more so than his draft grades or if he was undrafted as that has nothing to do with us.

Did Charleston Rambo work out here?. He went undrafted as well.

Now if you said LT left stuff on the field , could have played better, used his year of elgibility i would say yea...but not working out i wouldnt list that for him. get me?.

Gerald Willis was right there for the taking and you used Rambo.

Talent has never been the issue. Effort and want to has. Film showed flash plays and also showed him taking as many plays off. He got up for the big games and relaxed when the moment wasn’t as big. As I’ve said for two years people thinking first or second round for that guy were in for a shock. With all that said being an UDFA should be a wake up call for him or anyone else. This is his last chance to make things right. I’m pulling for him because I hate to see anyone blow an opportunity.

THIS.

Alwas thought he would be a mid rounder to end of draft when he came out..had he stayed and sured up things he had a chance to go up to the third with good workouts.

the sh*t he showed up to the combine to do he couldve turned off his tv and phone from thursday of draft week.

Sure, he did some things, but I was continually disappointed by his on the field play. I don't even feel like he had one great game his entire career here.

When you make a final roster, that means you can play at an elite level. He never looked like an NFL player to me. That's where we seem to have a disconnect in this conversation. Little flash plays don't do it for me.

He wasn't going to get drafted on film here either. The poor combine performance and interviews just solidified what people mostly thought. Here's a guy who might look the part a few times a game, but he vanishes the rest of it. Even if he made a late round, made the active roster, that would still suggest to me that we failed to get more out of him.

Irregardless, hope it works out for him. I'm not one to hate on these young men. I'm not even concerned with leaving a year of eligibility on the table. Three years is enough time to show who he was going to be here under past and present coaches.
