Leaving high school early to get to the bag?

I’m sure this is gonna happen in a few cases a year for the wrong reasons. On one hand it makes me sad, but on the other, lots of kids have pressure early to be providers for their family, that’s not new, what’s new is doing it in college sports.

Reclassifying in general is a bit of a concern for me outside of elite elite kids. There’s a lot to be said for structures and rites of passage, corny as that sounds. Everything happens in due time. Development is physical, mental, emotional, psychological. Just because a kid is “ready” doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be more ready in a year. Usually my instinct is what’s the hurry?

We got Gigi school kids jumping early for the bag too. It’s a wild era.

But hopefully the bag will keep the Trajan bandys of the world in school another year. Get that degree. Bandy easily could’ve made some solid nil in his day
I think they should all declare NFL ready, CFB NIL , BAG , agents , recruiting 6-8 year olds playing in parks and back yards plus doing what’s best for families has trashed high school and CFB.

Pretty soon they’ll be a junior NFL ready league for 10 year olds .
I read somewhere the ticket , parking and concessions prices to triple very soon to supply BAG and NIL contracts.

I just follow our Canes from afar , I don’t go to games anymore to stressing and dangerous for older fans with alcoholic fans getting in everyone’s faces urinating / deficating in parking lot yelling look at my helmet out in open and in stands groping women .

Everyone in America isn't rich.
Plus, some kids are just ready earlier compared to others. Training is getting more and more professional in younger age groups and it allows athletes to simply get better and physically more ready at an earlier age.

This isn't a phenomenon exclusive to football. NBA is really young compared to two decades ago, soccer has gotten younger significantly, and F1 has seen a continuous reduction in age average throughout it's history.

Is it a bag thing? Sure, but young athletes are simply more ready now compared to 20-30 years ago.

This a fact! I remember when NMB Chargers had a kid who played QB and safety. He was **** near 20 in high school! Got held back twice. He ended up at Syracuse.
Florida has age restrictions. If you turn 19 before July heading into your senior season, you’re ineligible. It used to be September.

This was in the 2010s. I think his name was Richie Desir.
They moved the 19th birthday cutoff date to July in 2021. It had been September for decades. When I was in high school in the 90’s, you couldn’t turn 19 before your senior year started or you’d be ruled ineligible

The majority of kids who reclassify are older than everyone else in their class anyway, so in essence they're actually supposed to be in the class they reclassified to in the first place.
I believe Armando Blount was actually a year early. I don’t know about Malachi Toney.
