Leading rushers in the nation:

@BYTIMREYNOLDS

And here they are: The Week 1 Hurricane football stats-and-facts, courtesy of my research department, meaning, me. (A disclaimer: There are three games left this weekend, but it's Sunday, and it's my rules, so here goes):

_ Duke Johnson's 186 rushing yards in Week 1 leads the FBS nation
_ Same goes for scrimmage yards: Duke Johnson leads the nation in those, too (186 rush + 38 rec = 224).
_ Duke Johnson was one of only three players nationally this week with more than 100 rush yards and more than 25 receiving yards.
_ Miami was one of 17 teams with more than 300 rushing yards in Week 1.
_ Miami's 8.0 yards-per-carry average was sixth-best nationally in Week 1.
_ The 8.0 yards-per-carry was the best for any Miami team since Oct. 5, 2002 vs. UConn.
_ Herb Waters' 63.0-yard rushing average (technically) leads the nation. He doesn't have enough carries to be eligible, but still ...
_ If Miami is ranked this week, it'll be the first time since Nov. 14, 2010. There's no new AP poll until Tuesday (because of the Sunday-Monday games).
_ If Miami is ranked this week, it'll be its first appearance in the last 38 polls.
_ If Miami is ranked this week, it'll be Al Golden's first time as head coach of a ranked team. (Last time he was part of a ranked team was Oct. 16, 2005, when he was defensive coordinator at Virginia).

With that, it's Gator Week.
