AQM?

Surely we're gonna see 4 of these guys on the field at the same time a lot this year, right? I know "we're going to be multiple", first person to post that gets negged to Bolivan, but with the focus on linebacker sized pass rushers combined with few everydown DEs who have passrush ability, I just have to think they're going to angle more and more that way. Or am I off base? There would be some talented guys on a 3rd string from that list, compared to our...er, uhm.... "underwhelming" guys in our DL two deep. I know it's not that simple.... the focus on pass rushing linebacker-sized dudes just seems impossible to ignore.

Not too sure, but I heard on QAM the other day we're going to be multiple.

/Arab$ is an end all the way

that is a pretty impressive list based on potential at least. lots of big athletic guys there. it would seem that we'd get 4 on the field at the same time

I think the best part about this list is that in special packages, we can have fresh guys coming off the edge ready to murder opposing QB's. We can get real creative and have guys coming on crazy stunts and blitzes, especially zone blitzes.

I think we have the size at OLB and DE for a 3-4 but not sure we have the size and depth in the middle at LB especially without a prototypical nose guard. I've heard some say Perryman up the middle, that's a 4-3 WLB playing 3-4 ILB? We'll see

I could see Kirby as one possible ILB in a 3-4 set, though I like him better at SLB. Not sure who else fits the mold, Gaines isn't the biggest but could be a possibility. The edge rushers could be impressive though so I hope we can have a lot more 3-4 looks.

That's why we have Gaines, Perryman, Kirby and Blue for any inside work in the 3-4 inside LBs set,

I agree, there are some holes, and maybe it's a direction we're moving towards for the future rather than something we'll see this year. We've just stocked the roster to the gills with 3-4 OLB types.

Perryman has always played lights out when he was in at MLB!!

I don't want Perryman anywhere near the MLB position, he is far better suited to play the weakside. Blue is a big boy, he may be able to play the middle. I have also been intrigued with Eddie at MLB, but am not willing to count on him anywhere until het gets back into school.

A 1 gap 3-4 would protect our inside linebackers from having to take on guards on a regular basis and probably fits our personel the best. If Pierre comes on we might really be able to do this.

AQM?

I Reallly hope we don't play around with AQM in particular.

Let him stick to DE, and develop there, because we really have a need for a premeire guy at DE!!!

Then why didn't he stay at MLB last year? He was clearly more effective at WLB last year than he was at MLB.

I think Figs could be a beast at ILB. Zach Thomas played 3-4 in Miami at 5'10 225, London Fletcher is undersized, Sean Spence is an ILB in Pittsburgh and he's the same size as Perryman. You would have a Bigger SILB and faster WILB. Most of the game is spent in Nickel/Dime situations. It will be interesting to see a 3-3 package with guys able to blitz or drop from all kinds of angles.

I'm pretty sure this is for one gap under 3-4 where the weak side guard is occupied by the nose tackle.

I wonder just how "multiple" Miami wants to be. If this means switching from one type of 4-3 or 3-4 or using both one and two gap techniques in both fronts. If the latter you would imagine it takes quite a while to form a team with personel needed and more importantly the experience and IQ to be able to handle that many different looks.

This was likely a defense that was never supposed to be great early.

I'm with this 100%. AQM is going to be a solid-sized DE in no time. No reason to mess around with him as a tweener.
