"Although I'm committed, Miami is still a top-three school for me, with Auburn being number one since I am committed," Garrett told CaneSport. "I see myself potentially playing for that program, and having the opportunity is great. Having coach Hetherman talk to me was great, and he's just so down to earth. I like how he talked about mental health and having a connection with a coach away from football; it is big for me as well.”

"It was great, and it was very important for me to see a coach from that staff come and see me," Garrett said. "What really stood out was the background he has, which was just great. We had a lot of good talks, and he also told me about his development and the players that he currently has in Mobile, Alabama, for the Senior Bowl. He's a great straightforward guy and said a lot of things that I like."

"I always thought Miami had a great program, and I love the location of where it's at," Garrett said. "When they originally offered me in the spring, Miami automatically became a top-three school for me because growing up I heard about so much history about Miami and what they've done. It would be crazy to potentially play for that team in the future."

"I originally planned on visiting Miami a couple of weeks ago," Garrett said. "I want to get to Miami so bad because that's one school out of all my offers I can't wait to get to. I'm looking forward to going down in the spring, seeing what they got, and just being in that environment of Miami football. I can't wait to get that done and see what they have to offer."
