Lawson Decommits....

Two straight years without the ominous cloud, two straight awful classes. 3 of the top 50 guys in South Florida committed is pathetic.

And yet, there are still retards in our fan base who make excuses for this guy.

LOL at every blaming the staff. the Kid wants a chance to play it happens. everyone can see that he wasnt going to play. IMO he is way too good to be on the bench for 2-3 years. would i had perferred him as a Cane absolutely but i cant blame him. now if we lose Scarlett im losing my ****.

Here's a solution for replacing Lawson: I wrote about him on 12/12

MICHAEL O'CONNOR Transferring From Penn State #6 QB in 2014
Michael O'Conner was the #6 Pro Style QB for 2014 rated by both ESPN & Rivals.. O'Conner played his High School ball at IMG Academy with Tyree St. Louis, so that could play in our favor..

He was an early commit & early enrollee at Penn State, he wanted to play for Bill O'Brien.. O'Brien left for the NFL and Penn State hired James Franklin one week before O'Conner was due on campus.. With all that was going on, O'Conner still honored his commitment..
Then on top of that QB Trace McSorley followed Franklin from Vanderbilt to Penn State...

We are very thin at QB... Kaaya is our starter for next year but Rosier is our only other scholarship QB on the roster... I did read that Ryan Williams has applied for a Medical Redshirt, and if that happens the position gets stronger...

Lawson is coming in for 2015 & Allison 2016 (nothings guaranteed up until they sign there LOI)...

O'Conner would have to sit a year, but to think if Lawson, & Allison stick and O'Conner came to The U, the QB position would be a position of strength again...

This.

I can't believe some of the **** I read on here. Golden cried every day for 3 years about the cloud. He is the cloud, 6-6 and getting blown out on National TV over and over is much worse then some mythical cloud that hovered over the program.

Not firing him this season has set the program back 2 years. This class will be awful, 2015 season will be a disaster.

Why is anyone surprised? Golden finishes recruiting like the team finishes the season on the field - with a whimper.

More disappointment to come between now and February.

So going in to Folden's fifth year he only has 2 scholarship qbs going into the Spring. Smh at this loser.

listen I blame the staff for a lot of things but did you actually read Lawson's comments on Kaaya?

he said things were different when he committed they had a freshman quarterback playing now they have an all American freshman quarterback that will be here for another 3 years

Virginia Tech is selling him on the same thing we sold kaaya when he came here a chance to compete and start early. he probably feels he has a better shot of unseating any of the other quarterbacks than coming in and taking the job from Kaaya

Posters just want to blame the staff for anything...smh... he clearly knws Kaaya is the man and rhat at Virginia Tech he can go win that job cause they dnt have a QB....

There is no defense for not getting or keeping quality recruits! Recruiting is JOB 1 for any head coach! It's his and staff responsibility get commitments and to get them to sign on NSD. If you can't then you're regraded as a weak recruiter (1). It's not because of Kaaya the kid decommitted (excuses), see FSU & USC QB commitments (2). Record 6-6 and offensive inefficiency, especially on 3rd downs, (3). Straight beat downs ending seasons and bowl games point to a coach that can't prepare his team (4). With the exception of a few. these kids signing because it's The U. Golden has not been a recruiting factor in no manner anyone can objectively point to. Stop making excuses dammit! Al sucks, theses kids know it, other teams telling recruits and most here know it! We in the middle of a Rio whorehouse of talent and the finest talent going to Tally and Gville? The gig on Al is up and now a dude (UF) with a month and a half on the job will out recruit Al!!! Can't you see what this moron is doing to the program? Stop supporting him! He's the enemy!

Everyone looks at all this **** in a bubble, on an individual basis. "Oh this kid just doesn't want to compete," "It's cool we have Player X."

You guys just don't ******* get it. Look at the big picture, our class is awful, and we're losing top talent left and right. We've had 11 decommits. 11. On top of that, we're letting top local kids flee to greener pastures. This has been an awful, awful class, and last year was not a whole lot better. We bring in a couple top guys, and a bunch of JAGS. So yes, it is on the coaches. This has been out there for a while that he was on the brink of bailing, so why is our only backup plan a kid committed to FAU?

Talked to my boy on the staff & i have permission this time to tell you guys this was all because of Kaaya. Lawson saw an elite young QB in front of him & bolted. VT is telling him he can be their Kaaya, telling him he would be sitting behind Kaaya for 3 years at Miami, saying things like Kaaya is Miami's Tom Brady and nobody takes Tom Brady's job no matter who they are, etc.

The QB depth has been a royal ****-up on the part of Golden & Jedd Fisch, but this situation has everything to do with the fact that Miami has a franchise QB already in place. If you are going to lose a good recruit from your class, then this is the reason you want to lose them... because you already have someone ridiculously good (and young) entrenched at that position.

Apparently it's illegal and impossible to have a big time Qb as a backup

Nothing is ever the staffs fault.

This is on the cloud, come on be fair.

Some guys don't care to be a back up for a few years but apparently Lawson didn't want to do that.. He has offers from other schools wanting him to be the starter as a Freshman he can't pass that up. No doubt it's a big loss

Make sure to recruit someone who doesn't care.

I guess it's not only that but when other teams, especially teams like VT and Florida give him the chance to start from day 1 in the same conference or in a better conference that is hard to pass up. If it was just USF giving him that opportunity then he probably stays imo.

Where are you reading UF is offering him the chance to start day 1? Harris and Grier are competing for the job in the spring. UF also feels very, very good about Francois flipping on his visit in January. He's actually McElwain's #1 target right now. Lawson may or may not go to UF, but I'm 100% certain he won't start as a freshman, or sophomore either for that matter.

If Rosier is a total bum then this is a ******* disaster. If Rosier can play then I think we will be ok. Anyone hear anything about Rosiers ability so far?

Just read on rivals that he decommited because of Kaaya. Like pretty much word for word quote in the article. Thats pretty pathetic that he is running away from competition.

Great, so he goes to VT and proceeds to destroy our chances of winning the Coastal at the end of every season for the next 4 years.

Just awesome.
