Latest Polls (Sept 15)

Looking at the Coastal Conteder's Schedules for the rest of the year I'd rather VT make a run so that they are ranked high when we beat them

Georgia Tech (2-0) Schedule
VT
Miami
BYU
Cuse
UVA
Pitt
Clemson
Alabama A&M
UGA.

Virginia Tech (1-1) Schedule
Marshall
GT
UNC
Pitt
Duke
Boston College
Miami
MD
UVA

North Carolina (1-1) Schedule
GT
ECU
VT
Miami
BC
NCST
UVA
Pitt
ODU
Duke

These are the four teams in the Coastal Race to me. Week 4 will be important because Whoever wins in week 4 is the one I hope continues to win until they play us. So then people can stop the *****ing about the ACC and like Caneshow said it'll be a victory over a nice ranked conference opponent.

VT is a mess. They'll end up a game or two over .500.

That conference Bias. SEC teams beat each other in the conference and get ranked. Why can't that happen in any other conference? When we beat UNC and GT will we become top 10? It's bull that they only have to win their conference games to make the National Championships while other teams have to win their Conference PLUS beat an SEC team to make it to the dance.

It's what makes preseason rankings so dangerous, when nearly half your conference starts in the top 12 it makes it impossible for SEC teams to plummet to far unless they suffer some kind of astounding loss (like Arkansas against Louisiana-Monroe). They never drop more than 4 or 5 spots, and then immediately make up the ground by beating another overrated SEC team or a cupcake OOC team.

Whoever loses that Oregon/Stanford matchup will drop far enough behind the SEC cluster that they won't be able to crawl back into the title picture. Same thing with FSU/Clemson/Miami.

The only two teams right now that can win out and not have anyone around them affected is Ohio State and Louisville.

Talking about rankings first half of the season is a joke.

Texas A&M in the top 10 is my only complaint.. Unless Johnny Football can play some D, I don't care how good of a QB he is.

SEC circular logic. Pollsters refuse to drop SEC teams when they lose to other SEC ranked teams all that far.

Georgia dropped from 5 to 11 after losing to Clemson, South Carolina only dropped from 6 to 13 after losing to Georgia, and Georgia moved right back up to 9th after beating South Carolina. South Carolina beats a mediocre Vandy and the moves back up a spot.

TRUTH SPOKEN

Um. 5 to 11 isn't much different than 6 to 13

I'm shocked 3 1 loss SEC teams are still in the top 13. Shocked.

Why? based on where those teams started that's about where they should be. UGA lost to the current number 3 ranked team on the road in a close game and Texas A&M lost at home to the reigning national champions in a close game. No team is going to fall that far with those losses

I believe you missed the sarcasm in his post. Of course it makes sense based on where they are ranked, the point is the SEC always gets the benefit of the doubt.

I, for one, hate the SEC and think it is ridiculous that two loss teams from the conference can play for the national championship, but if an ACC team would handle their business on the field, it wouldn't be an issue.

I didn't mean to compare the losses of Clemson and Georgia.

The point was that SEC teams don't drop nearly as far when they faced ranked teams, and when they lose in conference (as in the case of UGA/SC), one always jumps right back up and the other barely drifts.

Also, Chris Fowler goofed on his ballot and meant to have Miami at 14th, so they are correcting the error and releasing a new AP Poll later.

Not that it really matters, but I guess he got annoyed enough with people bugging him on twitter to right his mistake.

All this concern about where we're ranked at the moment is pretty ****tastic.

Zero ***** given until the end of the year. TCB, *******.
