Latest on Battle

I think it's great that they are coming to their senses and being more objective about Urban Meyer, but I'd be remiss if I said I am not disappointed by the fact it took his being complicit in a case of domestic battery to make them question his character.

I'm also hesitant to get too excited when Oklahoma is still in the mix. Perhaps it's just too many years of following recruiting, but I fail to see their appeal for him, and when these programs hang around it's always still a caution flag in my mind.

It's typical for an Ohio State or Alabama to be in the mix on a player like this, but when the competition implodes and there's another somewhat random out of state program of no particular appeal for a South Florida recruit hanging around, I just don't bite on the hook yet.

He was comfortable enough to commit to Ohio State, he should be comfortable enough to commit to Miami when he's ready. I hope he does in short order. If he releases a top 5 with a bunch of other schools now in the mix, I will probably write him off.

The one OU commit is in his position group, and is the loudest of everyone there.

Harley is a College sophomore. Davis sees the kid everyday.

Not saying Davis is gonna close the deal, but make no mistake, he's gonna campaign the hardest for Battle's services.

Don’t disagree that Davis will be in his ear or even that he will be the loudest voice, but Battle ain’t going to OU because the kid who wanted to come to UM but didn’t have a spot is now in his ear. If Battle goes to OU it’s not because we didn’t take Davis.

Plus I think Battle and his parents are going to be much more discerning with his recruitment going forward. They felt the pull of Richt before this all went down, they won’t make the same mistake twice.

He’s good imo, should have been a priority from the start but it is what it is. Can’t take multiple small corners per class or you will end up like FSU having 3 of their top 4 corners 5-9- 5’10 ...
Levonta Taylor 5’10
Kyle Myers 5’11.5
Anthony Lytton 5’10
Asante Samuel 5’9.5

Come on, Jaden WAS a major priority. The staff just wasn't going to hold a spot for him when Couch wanted to commit.

We were on Davis early and recruited him hard, but as you said they weren't going to take 3 5'9"/5'10" corners

Again, if this guy is still waffling and the parents are still not 100% realizing who oscar cryer is, no worries, cornelius nunn says hello. Let's be real, how is it now that oklahoma is in it, when according to what was reported after he committed to ohigho fake that Miami was his second choice, and now oklahoma's in it, lol. Again no matter the talent level, we primarily should leave guys like battle alone, we already put the full court press on em, so we've done our job, just let em know the ball is in his court, give him a deadline and than it's nunn or nothing, which really is something.

He said miami was 2nd but he would still visit some other schools.

Urban is out for himself. His concern here was exonerating himself so he's in position to throw his hat into the next job that appears right before his picking. But, once there's trouble in paradise, you can bet your bottom dollar that his tenure is going to be very short-lived. It's precisely why everywhere he has been in the past has the same stance, they are happy for what he produced while there but not in a tremendous rush to welcome him back either.

Now we just need to have someone hack in to Lincoln Riley's computer to find something we can use to blackmail him in to abandoning his S. FL recruiting. Calling all Russian, N. Korean & Chi-Com hackers. This U needs you.
It honestly wouldnt take that much...

What battle told uf 247 site on who his 2nd choice is.

Probably Miami. Of course I love Coach [Mark] Richt. He’s a great, relatable person to his players, very energetic, very happy all the time. He’s a very good coach. Coach Banda, he’s also a good father-like figure. He reminds me of [St. Thomas Aquinas Head] Coach [Roger] Harriott almost with the speeches and good factual talks. He stays in contact with me.”

Not sure if true or not but reports are that Nunn has a commitable offer that he hasn’t accepted yet because his family has him waiting for an offer from FSU. If true, I don’t think staff would give Nunn more leeway than they would give Battle.
