Israeli women are hot
If he declares too early, he's going to end up playing bball in Israel just like McClinton.
Could also end up there if he declares too late
I just don't agree with the fact he won't improve coming back.
If he proves his passing or defense or even his shooting or what if he gets even a step quicker? You're telling me he couldn't get into the top 25 picks next year? I just don't believe that.
Especially if he's ACC POY, 1st team All-American, and widely regarded as the #1 PG in the country.
He could even get into top 20 next year IMO.
I think he should come back, and if so would make himself more money.
I agree.
I think he could improve his game, Im just not sure how much his stock can improve. He was MVP of ACC tourney and was getting tons of national attention. He isnt going to get much bigger or stronger, his shot is left, handles are good, defense is good, etc.
I do agree that this draft class is pretty stocked with guards though, and he would go a little higher next year.
So essentially the following:
1. He could improve, and
2. There is a lot of competition or depth at guard (his position).
What else do we know?
1. The kid is not dying for money (i.e. comes from a broken home and needs to support his family),
2. He has 2 years of eligibility left, and
3. He isn't guaranteed to be a first round pick.
Logic dictates.....STAY IN SCHOOL!
Logic doesnt factor in his dream, which Im assuming is to play in the NBA. Its right there if he so chooses. Maybe he is the type of person who wants to make his own money and not live off his dad either.
Im not saying I want him to go, Im just saying I cant blame him if he does. I hope like **** he doesnt actually
I agree.

I know you don't want him to go but I think Shane's case is an outlier and not the norm.
He seems to have a good family (just my guess) and his dad/mom seems to go to every game to support him. Declaring for the NBA will not guarantee he gets to said NBA. It will just guarantee he is ineligible for the NCAA.

No arguing that. Theres just something telling me that he knows this year was about as good as it gets for UM BBall while he is there, and he might not want to be a part of the rebuilding again.

Has a UM basketball player every applied early for the draft before?

Diaz did
Larkin is the number 3 PG in the draft right now
I was just at this student celebration for the team and all the players were there talking to everyone. While none of them flat out said he was leaving, that's the overall mood. Some people I spoke to tonight who are close to the team said he is gone for sure. Basically no one actually thinks he's coming back.
On a side note, Coach L spoke to the crowd and said "All of the experts will say we won't be a top 25 team next year, but don't believe them. Our mission is just beginning here. This was only the coaching staff's second season here and we've laid the groundwork for a great future."
Seemed very optimistic.
Also, I had a nice conversation with Jekiri...extremely humble. He came to the US in 2010 and was a soccer player in Nigeria had never played basketball before coming over.
If I was Larkin I would enter the draft but not hire an agent. Then if you don't like your draft position, just go back to school.

I think they changed the rule.

I think it only works if he doesn't get drafted, which he will.
