Lance Guidry remade the defense in Year 1, taking the group from 80th in yards per play to 35th and shaving the scoring defense from 28 ppg to 24.1 ppg. He met with reporters after practice to discuss the next steps:

On the defense’s progress: It's coming together. A lot of guys are getting reps with different groups. We’ll keep matching different guys up front, linebacker. We have a little bit of injuries with the secondary, nothing bad, just replacing people all the time. Same thing...

Dont worry Dannyboy, its not THAT bear.
I gotta tell ya

It takes a special talent to make a joke like this and have it actually be funny in 2024. Well done.

Speaking of special talents…these DT types always make me nervous. They ragdoll people in high school and then can’t hack it in college when they aren’t the biggest anymore. Or they are just lazy. Seems like good early returns on this kid so far we badly need him and Jones to hit.

He definitely was. He had the versatility to play as a Nickel Safety. But since he's likely not gonna be playing Football for a very long time, we should be trying to find another Speedy DB that can play in both spots.
yup im in the opinion they should be sending out a few more offers at db for the spot so we dont have the complaining basically what he is saying. And apparently dude really like Couch lol

come to the cb thread imma post some guys

this dancing bear must be really showing high movement skills to tick out like so.

Thing is im higher on Jones so this is a good start

Guidry is/will be the best coordinator we've had in the last 20+ years. Sorry Lashlee fans. He is adaptable to the personnel we have and makes really good scheme and play calling adjustments. He impressed me with changing our base defense last year mid-season. The players get a lot of credit for learning it quickly, but Guidry and the position coaches had to teach it. It was the right defense to change to and masked our weaknesses and personnel deficiencies.

We do have some defensive ends that can play inside. We have a lot of girth with some of those guys like Bain, Mesidor and Baron.

Man no need apologize to the Lashlee fans. Lashlee was solid and I was a fan of his here but man his run concepts were beyond frustrating.
