Lamarcus Joyner on Miami

I learned that Stephen Morris has a quality arm, but isnt a mature decision maker. Also, Morris it seems that Morris applies too much pressure on himself on 3rd downs...

Coley needs to manage the game better for Morris, and depend on Morris to do simple things, and throw him a bone, by dialing up some deep balls every now and again.

Would have liked to see more designed roll out passes, and less of thsoe stretch runs with Duke in the game.

For whatever reason, we utilize a form of the pistol formation when Crawford is in the game, which works for nearly every team in college football; including us. But, when Duke is in the game, we settle on the stretch run too often. What gives?

i have to say that morris misses a lot of guys open deep, whether it is he is scared to throw (which i doubt), or he just doesnt see it (which is what i think it is), i was at the wake game and he didnt see guys blazing down field wide open, he left at least three deep TD throws on the field for that game, the kid has all the physical tools to be a great QB, but he has a problem at times reading the defense and scanning the field, and he does at times put too much into a throw which most of them led to INTs

U forgot a worthy QB.

I still say this game would have been completely different if we had a healthy Phillip Dorsett, Rashawn Scott and...

...a competent OC.

look at what Jedd Fisch did with Morris, and compare that to what coley is getting out of him..

Show me what Jedd did with Morris against FSU and Notre Dame and Kansas State thats all I care about. Miami should always pad stats against everyone else, also show me what game was Duke most successful (against top teams)in I havent checked no stats but I bet the last game was his best game against a top D. That FSU team is leaps better than last years.

Morris missed Stacy a thousand times theres nothing James Coley could do about that. James Coley cant block Telvin Smith James Coley cant make Stephen Morris run faster James Coley cant make second reads for Morris James Coley cant make SM throw accurate over the middle. U get guys complaining last week about the TEs and now SM throws to them and now yall still complaining.

coley isn't even getting morris to pad his stats against the mediocre defenses. that renders your point moot.

The whole division is better this year on defense, everyone was surprised by SM last year and in the off season its called film they study it. They know he likes the deep ball so team took it away. Cmon man

what you just described sounds a lot like an issue that the OC should be able to manage.

Nole or not, I love Joyner's game. Loved him in HS.

Kid is undersized a bit but loves to hit and tackle. Kid is a baller.

Awesome player. Big miss letting him get away. He's a tough kid with great football speed.

I said it the whole week and before the game and alot of people hate on me for it. I can see us winning the second game not the first. Its hard to beat the same talented team twice. I would still favore FSU but now we got game film and it will be alot closer.

this will def. be a topic for another day but i disagree due to a missing a Duke Johnson

We didn't let him get away he was up front with UM the whole time he wanted to go to FSU from day 1. His idol was Terrell Buckley because they were both undersized guys at CB. He didn't play games or diss us like other SFL clowns... I was at Miami nike camp right next to him all he talked about was FSU and how big of a fan he was...

I got to meet Joyner before the game and he is one of the nicest kids I have ever met. Wrote a letter to my niece who is a FSU fan while I was wearing all Canes gear and he couldn't of been a nicer guy.

I'm telling you, we didn't play that bad, they're just really good.

..and we also missed out on some big opportunities that could have made it a much, much closer game. The missed field goal, the throw to a wide open Coley that should have been a touchdown but ended up an interception, the throw on the slant to Waters that could have been a touchdown or at least a long play but was misfired, the bad early whistle on Duke's run that led to us punting instead a nice gain and first down, etc. When you play against such a strong team, you can't miss those opportunities, but that doesn't mean our team didn't play hard.

I wouldn't expect him saying anything other than what he did.

Don't feed a wounded dog. When chances are great you will see them again soon.

Isn't Morris hurt like really really hurt? That is all I hear from Morris apologist. The only QB that is hurt this season.

well in that case unlucky for us he just wasn't raised right

We were a couple of plays away from really making that a game. Morris hits Waters on the opening drive of the 2nd half and we have first down in Nole territory. Instead he threw too hard and too high. Noles get the ball and take it and score instead. 28-14 Again we are still in it and we get the perfect play call but Morris reads it late and does not let Coley run under the throw, its picked off and game over after that. Morris is just not trusting what he is seeing right now. There were plenty of times where we had guys in position to make plays but because of his indecisiveness it turned into good plays for Noles. You have to execute against elite teams. Unfortunately we are always a play or two short of competing with elite teams.

Them same apologist are going to get clowned soon enough. Next season will show how horrible Morris is. When a so called no arm QB, or a RFR play the position how it is suppose to be played.

Lol the only thing ppl on here have the intelligence to do is come up w/ dumb ways of blaming everything on Stephen Morris.... you all are pathetic.

"uh uh Give Clive Walford the ball more, our offense sucks b/c Morris cant find him" - so morris makes Walford the "#1" target, Walford chokes and that's Morris's fault.

Stacy Coley goes up for a catch-able ball one-handed and that's Stephen Morris's fault too.

The defense allows FSU's offense to convert 11-15 3rd downs and that's Stephen Morris's fault.

The reason why Miami got blown out was b/c Stephen Morris threw 2 interceptions.... THE END.

Hilarious

Of course its not all on Morris but his issues constantly stall drives or lead us into bad situations as a team. He should not be making some of the mistakes he is making as a senior QB. We probably lose the game even if he plays a perfect game because the defense was awful but we would have been at least in the game if not for his lack of consistency. Guys has never played a complete game in his career.

both of yall sound real stupid.... 1st I hope the next QB will do better then a QB w/ an ankle/Achilles injury hoping on 1 leg all season. GTFOH

You think i'm going to root for Miami's next QB to fail just to prove a point.... smh u sound like a ******.

When you all turn ur backs on the next QB at Miami, i'll be the one supporting him 2.... soft shouldered ******s coming up w/ these terms that dont mean ****. "uh uh morris apologist" naw ****** i'm a supporter of this team *****, if Ryan Williams isnt good enough to take a 1 legged QB's spot right now then their is a reason, stop acting like a ***** and deal with it.

No he wasnt the one "constantly" stalling anything against FSU last week.... he messed up but NO QB is perfect, he did throw 2 TDs, the final one was in the clutch going into the half. Walford stalled drives, the refs stalled that drive when they called that Duke run back, Stacy Coley stalled drives, and lets face it FSU's defense stalled some drives.

Stephen Morris and UM's offense went almost 50% on 3rd down conversions they did what they were suppose to do.... the defense kept S. Morris on the bench most of the game. Every time they punted or when he threw those 2 interceptions, FSU took half the time off the clock and scored another touchdown.

By the time UM's offense gets back on the field after the 1st drive, UM was down 2 TDs. So now the pressure is on the entire offense, not just morris, to execute perfectly and score or else. If the defense could do their jobs for once, their wouldnt be so much pressure on this offense to be perfect every drive.

Jameis Winston threw 2 interceptions and it was like it didnt happen b/c he was on the field for 40 minutes anyway. Yes Morris had some blame on that loss, he does need to make better decisions consistently but he wasnt the main reason Miami lost at all.
