I learned that Stephen Morris has a quality arm, but isnt a mature decision maker. Also, Morris it seems that Morris applies too much pressure on himself on 3rd downs...
Coley needs to manage the game better for Morris, and depend on Morris to do simple things, and throw him a bone, by dialing up some deep balls every now and again.
Would have liked to see more designed roll out passes, and less of thsoe stretch runs with Duke in the game.
For whatever reason, we utilize a form of the pistol formation when Crawford is in the game, which works for nearly every team in college football; including us. But, when Duke is in the game, we settle on the stretch run too often. What gives?
i have to say that morris misses a lot of guys open deep, whether it is he is scared to throw (which i doubt), or he just doesnt see it (which is what i think it is), i was at the wake game and he didnt see guys blazing down field wide open, he left at least three deep TD throws on the field for that game, the kid has all the physical tools to be a great QB, but he has a problem at times reading the defense and scanning the field, and he does at times put too much into a throw which most of them led to INTs
