Kyree Campbell 2016 DT denied by UNC so UM should reach out

I still don't think he'd be able to get in here anyways. Just because a player they denied got into Syracuse, doesn't mean he would have been able to get in here. If he was able to get in here then it would make no sense for him not to be able to get into UNC. It's not like we're WVU.

Since Miami is a private school certain prerequisites can be substituted, for instance you can sub an extra humanity class for your language requirements, were as a lot of state schools require a high school language.

Go Canes

Not to deflate Paranosboy Cane's hopes but has there ever been an instance where we actually took a recruit that apparently couldn't be admitted at another school (let alone another conference school) due to apparent academic issues and got him in here? The closest thing that I can even remember is Derrick Griffin but that obviously didn't happen and wasn't even completely the same as TAMU apparently just realized during his recruitment that he'd never actually be admitted. The Mullins and Gray situations are completely different as they were UM commits that were slid in and were never stained with the public label of "non-admit" at another school- something I'd highly doubt the academic/admissions influences in the Gables want to start dealing with.

Santonio Thomas didn't get in to UF, but he got in here - about 12-15 years ago...

Two-sport NCAA star: You need to know Derrick Griffin - Mid-Major Madness

Ahhh, that's a good catch. With him though wasn't it that his acceptable test scores came past some enrollment date for UF? Nonetheless, good example as they probably could have still greased him in and he ended up here instead.

Yep. I've kinda kept tabs on that kid to see if he'd end up doing well. I'm not big on wishing EVERYONE well just because they're a college athlete but that kid genuinely seemed like a decent person (he never lashed out at anyone on social media, stayed loyal to the small program that did take him, etc) so I'm glad to see him doing well in TWO sports. Perhaps this was the best route for him.

I'm not even sure it's possible to graduate from HS without taking a language class. If your high school allows you not to take a language class, you go to a terrible school that is plainly accepting many of their students will not be going to college.
And to get into any D1 school you can substitute the language class for any other class. View attachment 37017
