Kyle, Lu, D$, Pete,Tito, Geo's Nips: Confirm/Dispel a Rumor

It's a rumor that Maryland may offer him the job. Plus the Big Ten is easier than the crowded SEC West. Georgia is more realistic though.

Makes zero sense . Maryland is miss st, just in a easier conference

The B1G is easier than the SEC West? You realize that Bama will only have beaten one ranked team going into the SEC title game more than likely.

The SEC is right there with the ACC this year with being at the bottom of the P5. The B1G and Big 12 are much better than the SEC this year.

Mullen would do good here. The SEC is not Temple/MAC. Im a Butch guy but Mullen and Herman would be guys I would accept, as well as Chip Kelly 5th choice Schiano. I feel people are too down on him. He is a good coach.

I think many of you overestimate the type of program Maryland is and what type of coaches are going to that job. A Dan Mullen type is not going to that program. As is, its rumored they are hiring DJ Durkin FWIW.

4-29 vs ranked opponents? Naw

Stop it. Do you understand Mississippi State football? Didn't think so.

Also, how about the fact that his first HC job is at an SEC school. Not MAC or AAC or Mountain West. At 36 years old no less. 7 years of SEC HC experience and only 43. Currently only 3 years older than Herman. It's impressive if you are one without an agenda.

QB whisperer. That skill keeps top programs in NC hunts each year. Pair that with even just an above average D at Miami and we are a threat.

Here's his QB's numbers under him as QB coach/OC/HC: you're getting about 65% comp rate, 5 yds per carry and a good TD:Int ratio

Maryland is in the same Big 10 division as Ohio State, Michigan, and Michigan State. If Penn State can eventually right themselves Maryland's best hope is 5th place, ahead of Rutgers and Indiana.

Mullen has bee paired with Manny Diaz for much of his time at MsU. Thoughts on Diaz as a DC?

Mullen is not coming here. I expect him to go after the Georgia Job. Or possibly, the Maryland job. Maryland can throw big money at him.

That makes no sense. Mullen already makes a lot of money. MSU will give him more. If he leaves, it's because he wants to win big. He can't do that at Maryland.

Mullen already makes nearly $4.5M/yr with no expectation to win the SEC. Maryland's Big 10 division brethren include Ohio State, Michigan, and Michigan State. Mullen will never come close. He should jump to Georgia for the same money and have a chance win the SEC East and play for the SEC title. He has no chance in a division with Alabama, Auburn, LSU, and Ole Miss.

He's not a home run hire for Miami. More like a double. If you remove the standard $EC cupcakes like UAB, Jackson State, Troy, and the rest he has an overall losing record, just below .500. If you project him as a coach what would 'kill with Miami talent', fine, but the numbers don't indicate this.

Still, I think he would do well. A better option than Mark Stoops.

When has Miami ever hired a home run coach? And I mean a home run at the time they were hired? And who is really a home run coach?

He's a horrible DC. I remember his defense at Texas giving up close to 600 yards against BYU. He was canned immediately afterwards.
